The ScreenCat project is an open-source screen sharing and remote collaboration application built on Electron and WebRTC that lets users share their desktop and grant control of mouse and keyboard to remote participants. Originally designed for developers and tech enthusiasts rather than commercial use, it emphasizes hackability and contribution from the community. The software uses experimental Chromium WebRTC APIs to stream desktop video to another peer, and it supports remote control through a browser interface by sending a simple invite code.
