    London Bus Train Weather

London Bus Train Weather on a Raspberry Pi using various free APIs

...One button cycles: a clock, bus arrival times at the local stop to a preset destination, trains to a specific destination and finally a summary weather forecast (if you need an umbrella!) It does not cover the Underground as these services are so frequent to not require a timetable. It runs adequately on an old Pi Zero W. All the APIs are free, but the Train and Weather require sign up. The device features a time out to prevent hammering the API. It is enclosed in a small plastic food container. code coming 23 Jan 2023

    Raspberry Pi Paper Tape

Hardware and software that I used to read some old 8 bit paper tapes

A simple project to interface an old paper tape reader to a Raspberry Pi 3B. I find the C language easiest for me, and the libraries needed, were already installed in my version of raspbian. The Oliver Audio Engineering paper tape reader runs on 5V, but the Raspberry Pi runs on 3.3V.

A J2ME emulator for Windows, Linux, and Raspberry Pi

FreeJ2ME is a simple J2ME emulator with a focus on old mobile phone games. It was designed to run on Windows, desktop Linux, and on the Raspberry Pi 3 using Libretro and Retroarch as provided by RetroPie. It supports some games not playable using MicroEmulator and Kemulat0r, though it does not support every game those play. At the moment, it's best to have all three if you're interested in those types of games.

    PiSNES

    SNES emulator for Raspberry Pi

This is a SNES Emulator port based on SNES9X 1.39. This is an old version of SNES9X but was chosen as it runs mostly at full speed on the Raspberry Pi unlike the more recent versions of SNES9X. Game support is therefore not as good as the newer SNES9X versions and graphics & sound is not as accurate. Games that will not work, for example, are Yoshi's Island, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Star Fox.

    PiFBA

Final Burn Alpha 2x for Raspberry Pi

INTRODUCTION PiFBA is Final Burn Alpha 2x for the Raspberry Pi ported by Squid. This emulates old arcade games using MAME based roms for CPS1, CPS2, Neogeo, Toaplan and many other games. It should support most recent versions of the MAME versions of these ROMS but unfortnately there is no definitive version to use. A full list of supported games is in the frontend program. Some large ROMS may require converting to the '.fba' format before they will work.

    Pi-Heating

Central heating controller for Raspberry Pi (hardware + software)

This is a working replacement for a central heating 'programmer' in a system with a 3-way valve switching hot water between hot water/central heating/both. Software written in Python. PCB layouts are included, and code for the raspberry pi which controls the heating via a web front-end. The project replaces the "junction box" that connects boiler, programmer, pump, motorised valve, and thermostats together and makes most of these software accessible. The Raspberry Pi is connected by an...

    MAME4ALL-Pi

    MAME emulator for Raspberry Pi

This is a MAME Raspberry Pi port based on Franxis MAME4ALL which is itself based on the MAME 0.37b5 emulator by Nicola Salmoria. This version emulates 2270 different 0.375b5 romsets. Although this is an old version of MAME it plays much faster than the newer versions and as the Pi is rather CPU underpowered it was chosen to get as many games working at full speed as possible (full speed means 100% with no frame skip). It also plays most of the games I'm interested in playing! Source code moved to github https://github.com/squidrpi/mame4all-pi
