    BytePS

    BytePS

A high performance and generic framework for distributed DNN training

...In certain scenarios, BytePS can double the training speed compared with Horovod+NCCL. We show our experiment on BERT-large training, which is based on GluonNLP toolkit. The model uses mixed precision. We use Tesla V100 32GB GPUs and set batch size equal to 64 per GPU. Each machine has 8 V100 GPUs (32GB memory) with NVLink-enabled. Machines are inter-connected with 100 Gbps RDMA network. This is the same hardware setup you can get on AWS.

    FuzzyWuzzy

    FuzzyWuzzy

    Fuzzy string matching in Python

We’ve made it our mission to pull in event tickets from every corner of the internet, showing you them all on the same screen so you can compare them and get to your game/concert/show as quickly as possible. Of course, a big problem with most corners of the internet is labeling. One of our most consistently frustrating issues is trying to figure out whether two ticket listings are for the same real-life event (that is, without enlisting the help of our army of interns). To pick an example...

    jsonfield

    jsonfield

A reusable Django model field for storing ad-hoc JSON data

jsonfield is a reusable model field that allows you to store validated JSON, automatically handling serialization to and from the database. To use, add jsonfield.JSONField to one of your models. Note: django.contrib.postgres now supports PostgreSQL's jsonb type, which includes extended querying capabilities. If you're an end user of PostgreSQL and want full-featured JSON support, then it is recommended that you use the built-in JSONField. However, jsonfield is still useful when your app needs to be database-agnostic, or when the built-in JSONField's extended querying is not being leveraged. e.g., a configuration field. ...

    textgenrnn

    textgenrnn

Easily train your own text-generating neural network

...A modern neural network architecture that utilizes new techniques as attention-weighting and skip-embedding to accelerate training and improve model quality. Train on and generate text at either the character-level or word-level. Configure RNN size, the number of RNN layers, and whether to use bidirectional RNNs. Train on any generic input text file, including large files. Train models on a GPU and then use them to generate text with a CPU. Utilize a powerful CuDNN implementation of RNNs when trained on the GPU, which massively speeds up training time as opposed to typical LSTM implementations. Train the model using contextual labels, allowing it to learn faster and produce better results in some cases.

    HDL Checker

    HDL Checker

Repurposing existing HDL tools to help writing better code

HDL Checker is a language server that wraps VHDL/Verilg/SystemVerilog tools that aims to reduce the boilerplate code needed to set things up. It supports Language Server Protocol or a custom HTTP interface; can infer the library VHDL files likely to belong to, besides working out mixed language dependencies, compilation order, interpreting some compiler messages and providing some (limited) static checks. Notice that currently, the unused reports has caveats, namely declarations with the...

    PBTK Optimizer

Application for optimization of parameters in PBTK models

...Some parameters used in PBTK models, such as tissue weights, are easily measure. Other parameters can be determined through in-vitro experiments or through extrapolation using published equations. When it is impractical to use these methods to estimate a parameter, techniques can be used to optimize parameters so that model results best fit validation data. This tool was designed to optimize a user-specified list of parameters to a user-specified PBTK model. The user also controls validation data and optimization algorithms. In addition to optimized parameters, the tool outputs statistical information about the fit of the optimized model.

If you want to use the previous behavior just set the use_unicode configuration option to False. Once you have configured your database connection, you can run queries. To run a set of operations within a database transaction, you can use the transaction method which is a context manager.

    Miasm

    Miasm

    Reverse engineering framework in Python

...Among them, the SSA/Out-of-SSA transformation, expression propagation and high-level operators can be joined to “lift” Miasm IR to a more human-readable language. We use graphviz to illustrate some graphs. Its layout does not always totally conform with a reverse engineering “ideal view”, so please be tolerant of those odd graphs. Miasm is not the first tool to implement this feature. But, well, as the tool already had everything needed to implement DSE, it was just a matter of time before these features landed in the main branch.

    Fantasque Sans Mono

    Fantasque Sans Mono

A font family with a great monospaced variant for programmers

A programming font, designed with functionality in mind, and with some wibbly-wobbly handwriting-like fuzziness that makes it unassumingly cool. Now with ligatures. Development hosted on Github. Previously known as Cosmic Sans Neue Mono. It appeared that similar names were already in use for other fonts, and that people tended to extend their instinctive hatred of Comic Sans to this very font of mine (which of course can only be loved). The font includes a bold version, with the same metrics as the regular one. Both versions include the same ranges of characters, latin letters, some accented glyphs (quite a lot), some greek letters, some arrows. ...
