...I don't think this actually affects anyone (since as far as I know, nobody is actively using this but me) but wanted to make that clear. Anyway, you'll need to drop all items from characters before you upgrade and re-add them back afterwards. This shouldn't happen again. BCCpy came about as the result of my beginning to learn Python and recreating the basic functionality of a simple VB program I wrote back in 1999. Since I was never very proficient with Visual Basic (or Applesoft BASIC for that matter); this application is very basic and could use lots of improvements. I'll implement them as I learn them. As of October 6, 2018; I have "abandoned" the project. I have actually forgotten everything I know about Python since writing this and other than adding error handlers; I really don't know how much further I could take it. ... -

Clipboard Quote Encoder
qenqote is a Python/Gtk program to operate on snippets of text from the clipboard and put results back on the clipboard. This allows automation of common editing operations. In its prototypical application, qenqote accepts URL's that have been copied or cut to the clipboard from a browser bar. qenqote applies a user-selected quoting function, and writes the result back to the clipboard. Besides its URL transformation applications, qenqote can be given a variable name from which it produces text of "for (...) { }" or "while (...) { }" structures; can produce formatted dates or strings according to clipboard and other data; can put HTML tags around clipped text; can apply regular-expression substitutions to text; and can output any simple function one cares to program. -
