    Hy

    Hy

A dialect of Lisp that's embedded in Python

...The first thing a Python programmer will notice about Hy is that it has Lisp’s traditional parenthesis-heavy prefix syntax in place of Python’s C-like infix syntax. As in other Lisps, the value of a simplistic syntax is that it facilitates Lisp’s signature feature, metaprogramming through macros, which are functions that manipulate code objects at compile-time to produce new code objects, which are then executed as if they had been part of the original code.

    Agda

    Agda

Agda is a dependently typed programming language

...It features interactive development via Emacs, Atom, or VS Code. Agda is a dependently typed functional programming language. It has inductive families, i.e., data types which depend on values, such as the type of vectors of a given length. It also has parametrised modules, mixfix operators, Unicode characters, and an interactive Emacs interface which can assist the programmer in writing the program. Agda is a proof assistant. It is an interactive system for writing and checking proofs. Agda is based on intuitionistic type theory, a foundational system for constructive mathematics developed by the Swedish logician Per Martin-Löf. ...

    Mangle

    Mangle

Go library for Datalog-style logical reasoning and domain modeling

...It is designed to unify and query data from multiple sources in a structured, declarative way while allowing developers to model complex relationships and domain knowledge beyond binary predicates. Mangle enhances traditional Datalog by introducing features such as aggregation, function calls, and optional type-checking, which make it more practical for modern data-intensive applications. Unlike SQL, Mangle’s declarative syntax naturally supports recursion and modular program structure, making it suitable for representing hierarchical or interconnected datasets like dependency graphs or knowledge graphs. The project’s implementation is provided as a Go library, enabling developers to embed Mangle directly into their applications or services, such as database-like gRPC systems.

    Racket

    Racket

    The Racket repository

...Racket programmers typically program with functions, records, objects, exceptions, regular expressions, modules, and threads. That is, instead of a “minimalist” language, which is the way that Scheme is often described, Racket offers a rich language with an extensive set of libraries and tools. Libraries are not restricted to exporting values, such as functions; they can also define new syntactic forms. In this sense, Racket isn’t exactly a language at all; it’s more of an idea for how to structure a language so that you can extend it or create entirely new languages.

    The Lux Programming Language

...Also, new experimental support for JavaScript, Python, Lua, and Ruby has been added. Read carefully before using this project, as the license disallows commercial use, and has other conditions which may be undesirable for some. The language is mostly inspired by the following 3 languages. Clojure (syntax, overall look & feel), Haskell (functional programming), and Standard ML (module system). They are implemented as plain-old data-structures whose expressions get eval'ed by the compiler and integrated into the type-checker. ...

    Halide

A language for fast, portable data-parallel computation

...It works on all major operating systems and with several CPU architectures (X86, ARM, MIPS, Hexagon, PowerPC) and GPU Compute APIs (CUDA, OpenCL, OpenGL, among others). It isn't a standalone programming language however; rather it is embedded in C++ which means that you write C++ code, building an in-memory representation of a Halide pipeline using Halide's C++ API. This representation can then be compiled to an object file, or a JIT-compile and run in the same process. Halide also comes with a Python binding, allowing the writing of Halide embedded in Python without C++.

    The CUE Data Constraint Language

    The CUE Data Constraint Language

The home of the CUE language. Validate and define text-based config

CUE is an open source data constraint language which aims to simplify tasks involving defining and using data. CUE merges the notion of schema and data. The same CUE definition can simultaneously be used for validating data and act as a template to reduce boilerplate. Schema definition is enriched with fine-grained value definitions and default values. At the same time, data can be simplified by removing values implied by such detailed definitions.

    SpinalHDL

    SpinalHDL

    Scala based HDL

SpinalHDL is a hardware description (HDL) framework embedded in Scala, enabling hardware designers to build digital circuits with modern programming abstractions. Instead of writing in Verilog or VHDL directly, users describe hardware components and their interconnects using Scala code and Spinal’s domain-specific library, which then emits synthesizable hardware (e.g. as Verilog). Because SpinalHDL is embedded in Scala, it allows reuse of functional abstractions, parameterization, modular composition, and higher-level constructs to manage complexity. It supports building systems at various levels—single modules, pipelines, memories, controllers, etc.—while letting the designer control timing, pipelining, and resource sharing explicitly. ...

    Wrangling Untrusted File Formats Safely

...The project ships battle-tested, CPU-friendly implementations for common image/container formats and bit-twiddly primitives like Huffman and checksum routines. Its standard library emphasizes portability and constant-time behavior where appropriate, which is valuable in security-sensitive contexts. Because the language is purpose-built, the resulting C output is small, auditable, and easy to embed in larger systems.

    EDITEL

EDITEL is a screen editor/code generator for GnuCOBOL programmers

One of the hardest things to do when coding with COBOL is translating a screen design into code. The process may take hours, not to say days. In my old BLIS-COBOL, COBOL 74 and COBOL 80 /85 days (and those last 2 had the SCREEN SECTION which helped a lot !), I recall spending a significant amount of time dedicated to that activity. Time that could be used for more productive activities like coding and resolving bugs, for instance. Having said that, I developed a Screen Editor (similar to a Screen Painter, as some tools may call it) which allows the user to create screen layouts (which includes the use of colors) with delimited fields and respective input masks, and finally generate the SCREEN SECTION code that reflects that layout. ...

    CSharpLang

    CSharpLang

The official repo for the design of the C# programming language

...Language Design Meetings (LDMs) are held by the LDT and occasional invited guests, and are documented in Design Meeting Notes in the meetings folder, organized in folders by year. The lifetime of a design meeting note is described in meetings/README.md. LDMs are where decisions about future C# versions are made, including which proposals to work on, how to evolve the proposals, and whether and when to adopt them. Parsing (if applicable) should be resilient to experimentation: typing should not cause crashes.

    ats2-lang

ATS2: Unleashing the potentials of types and templates

ATS is a statically typed programming language that unifies implementation with formal specification. It is equipped with a highly expressive type system rooted in the framework Applied Type System, which gives the language its name. In particular, both dependent types and linear types are available in ATS. ATS2 extends ATS with an advanced template system, allowing functional programming to be employed in a setting where only bare minimal run-time support is available. In addition, the template system makes ATS2 highly suitable for supporting numerical computation.
