    Agda

    Agda

Agda is a dependently typed programming language

...It has inductive families, i.e., data types which depend on values, such as the type of vectors of a given length. It also has parametrised modules, mixfix operators, Unicode characters, and an interactive Emacs interface which can assist the programmer in writing the program. Agda is a proof assistant. It is an interactive system for writing and checking proofs. Agda is based on intuitionistic type theory, a foundational system for constructive mathematics developed by the Swedish logician Per Martin-Löf. It has many similarities with other proof assistants based on dependent types, such as Coq, Epigram, Matita and NuPRL.

    Hy

    Hy

A dialect of Lisp that's embedded in Python

...Compared to other Lisps, Hy provides direct access to Python’s built-ins and third-party Python libraries, while allowing you to freely mix imperative, functional, and object-oriented styles of programming. The first thing a Python programmer will notice about Hy is that it has Lisp’s traditional parenthesis-heavy prefix syntax in place of Python’s C-like infix syntax. As in other Lisps, the value of a simplistic syntax is that it facilitates Lisp’s signature feature, metaprogramming through macros, which are functions that manipulate code objects at compile-time to produce new code objects, which are then executed as if they had been part of the original code.

    pFFh

    pFFh

a self-contained development environment for embedded systems.

pFFh is a programming language that allows you to launch applications on embedded systems safely, quickly and comfortably. pFFh runs on the target system, combining operation as a command interpreter and code compiler. We can say that pFFh behaves like an operating system on the board under development. All pFFh needs is a serial or USB-serial channel to communicate, and through it, receive and process console commands, either from a keyboard or from files sent from a desktop computer. At...

    Vale

    Vale

Compiler for the Vale programming language

...The language introduces a concept called generational references to provide memory safety without relying on a garbage collector, and aims for “safe without a borrow checker” (i.e. reducing the burden on the programmer). Vale also pursues what they call Fearless FFI to make foreign function interface (e.g. interoperating with C libraries) safer and less error-prone. The language supports single ownership semantics (so values have a unique owner, which simplifies reasoning) while also enabling aliasing under controlled circumstances.

    SPL Compiler

A low-level system programming language with high-level syntax

A new system programming language designed to occupy the same niche C is currently holding, that allows for easier development of large platform-independent systems. The aims are to: * Keep all of C's system programming strengths. * Be as efficient as C (at run-time) and as high-level as possible for the programmer. * Promote modularity and ease the development of large-scale component-based software. * Enable programming-by-contract and other high-level features (as long as they incur no extraordinary costs at run-time). * Provide a stricter and more platform-independent type system than C. * Allow direct use of existing C and platform (e.g. ...

    Aardvark Language

    Aardvark Language

    A proposal for a general-purpose programming language

...A key feature of Aardvark is the robustness of the compiled code. Another feature is the attempt to heighten the level of abstraction while programming, to avoid the programmer being bogged down in nitty-gritty details. This higher level of abstraction is achieved in part by a meta-programming extension to the language; all of this while keeping everything simple and intuitive.

    The Magda language

    Magda language resource site

Magda is a programming language introduced in Jarek Kusmierek's PhD (http://www.mimuw.edu.pl/~jdk/mixiny.pdf) and continued in Mauro Mulatero's thesis (http://www.tesionline.it/default/tesi.asp?idt=45612). Magda's goal is to allow a programmer to write well-modularized, reusable code. Magda is based upon the core notion of mixin as the only unit of reuse. The power of modularization of mixins is enhanced by two unique features. The first feature is the modularization of constructors. In Magda, many mixins with independent definitions of constructors can be combined without the need to copy any code and without the risk of clashes. ...
