Open Source TypeScript PDF Generation Libraries

A simple and hackable CLI tool for converting markdown to pdf. It uses Marked to convert markdown to HTML and Puppeteer (headless Chromium) to further convert the HTML to PDF. It also uses highlight.js for code highlighting. The whole source code of this tool is only ~250 lines of JS ~500 lines of Typescript and ~100 lines of CSS, so it is easy to clone and customize.

SurveyJS is a product suite of open-source JavaScript form libraries that utilize JSON for survey metadata and results. You can use SurveyJS to render web forms and collect responses, or set up a form management system fully integrated in your IT infrastructure, where admin would create and edit multiple forms in a no-code drag-and-drop form builder UI. The form builder comes with a CSS Theme Editor—a set of UI controls for form styling. Any alterations you make, from colors to fonts and layouts, are immediately visible. You can save your customized themes in JSON and reuse them across surveys. You have total freedom as to the backend, as it integrates with any server and database. On the website, you can find integration examples for PHP, ASP.NET Core, and Node.js. You can also convert your forms as editable PDF files, and visualize survey results using interactive charts and tables. The website offers 200+ code examples and tutorials for all popular JS frameworks.

HTML to PDF or image (jpeg, png, webp) converter via Chrome/Chromium. This library is NOT meant to accept untrusted user input. Doing so may have serious security risks such as Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF). If you run into CORS issues, try using the --disable-web-security Chrome flag, either when you start Chrome externally, or in options.chromeFlags. This option should only be used if you fully trust the code you are executing during a print job. It is strongly recommended that you keep Chrome running side-by-side with Node.js. There is significant overhead starting up Chrome for each PDF generation which can be easily avoided. By default, pages are saved as a PDF. To save as a screenshot instead, supply screenshotOptions. You can optionally provide an HTML template for a custom header and/or footer. There are a few CompletionTrigger types that wait for something to occur before triggering PDF printing.

TypeScript base PDF generator and React-based UI. Open source, developed by the community, and completely free to use under the MIT license. No complex operations are required. Just bring your favorite template and generate all the PDFs you need. Works on node and the browser. Anyone can easily create and modify templates using Designer (UI template editor). Templates have a JSON document representation, which makes theme easy to understand and easy to work with.
