The Modular Kernel is a project aiming at developing a small and very modular kernel. Goal is to create a kernel, that is very small and lightweight, yet capable of providing a total level of abstraction to any high/middle level code/applications.
It is a minimal linux like kernel for x86 architecture. It is mostly the sourcecode from the tutorial "Roll your own toy UNIX-clone OS" written by James Molloy: http://www.jamesmolloy.co.uk/tutorial_html/index.html It is encoded in a bash script.
Deploy in 115+ regions with the modern database for every enterprise.
MongoDB Atlas gives you the freedom to build and run modern applications anywhere—across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. With global availability in over 115 regions, Atlas lets you deploy close to your users, meet compliance needs, and scale with confidence across any geography.
FreeWPC is a software framework for writing new software for 1990's Bally/Williams pinball machines. The framework allows you to build your own ROM images, define your own game rules, incorporate dot matrix animations, design lamp shows, and so on.
Various microcontroller projects and embedded firmware. Assembly language and C sourcecode. Schematics for hardware and board layouts. Embedded tools. Microchip PIC. Biotech automated instrumentation. Perl scripts. By Jonathan Cline at 88proof.com
Modest is an LKM piece of code that allows users, running a user-space control application which interacts with kmodest char driver using ioctl() syscalls, to redirect I/O write() or writev() system calls to a second file descriptor at runtime.
AppSignal's MCP server hands Claude, Cursor, or Zed your real errors, traces, and the deploy that shipped them. AI writes the fix; you review the diff.
Implementation of virtual threads for the XS-1. Currently a simple context switching implementation for the XMOS XS-1 architecture (Gn, Ln products). Allows a user to run low speed processes on a single thread using time sliced scheduling.
CleanOS is an operating system developed for educational purposes, initially to be an userspace GNU/Linux application running its executables and simulating the operating system task scheduler and IPC mechanisms. Now it supports a true i386 kernel.
The Beowulf Distributed Process Space (BProc) is a set of Linux kernel modifications for easy process management and remote process creation in Beowulf style clusters.
Perix is a MS-DOS compatible program, capable of running without an underlining OS. It is written in Turbo Pascal and Assembly. All parts of system are distributed under terms of the GNU General Public License v2.
Crocos is a small opensource UNIX-like kernel, designed with simplicity in mind, for educational purposes. It is developed in several steps to allow people to understand how a tiny operating system can be built from scratch.
Prex is a portable real-time operating system for embedded systems. The small, reliable and low power kernel is written in C language based on micro kernel design. File system, UNIX process and networking features are provided by user mode tasks.
K-OS is an open-source realtime-operating-system based on the OSEK/VDX standard aimed at compiler and microcontroller independence. Currently we support Motorola (Freescale) HC12/HCS12/HCS12X targets.
Open Embedded Real Time Operating System. Widely and graphically configurable from a very small non-preemtive OS up to a fully featured pre-emptive system. First target is to cover 8-bit AVR microncotroller's family with GCC - AVR compiler.
Hobbyist operating system using a new microkernel. The objective is to not get bogged down by ancient legacy processor support. The OS is meant to be designed from the ground up, without utilizing any legacy or existing implementations or designs.
LogoROS is new object-oriented operation system (currently in early development). See wiki page: https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/logoros/ and development blog: https://sourceforge.net/apps/wordpress/logoros/ for more info.
This project contains test software and tutorials for Analog Devices' Blackfin DSP device drivers and system services. See the wiki (in the menu bar above) for more info.
Aurora OS is an operating system designed in a microkernel format for all users. The object is to develop a modular, mulitplatform, multitasking Operating System that is simple, effective, and powerful.
uITRON is the RTOS that widely use in Japan. Original from TRON Project by Dr. Ken Sakamura. This project aims to provide ref. platform for Thai Developer. Credited to the original sourcecode from HOS Project http://sourceforge.jp/projects/hos/.
Exploring the possibilities of doing an Operating System completely different than all of the existing ones. Instead of basing it upon concepts that are 40 years old, design it from the ground up object oriented, peer-to-peer, and for security.
