The Systems Biology Workbench(SBW) is a framework for application intercommunications. The JProgress project provides tools for connectivity with Java clients and the Progress database. JProgress provides an n-tier software architecture for database access for executing remote requests over WANs and the Internet.

Py4J enables Python programs to dynamically access arbitrary Java objects. Methods are called as if the Java objects resided in the Python virtual machine. There is no code to generate and no interface to implement for shared objects on both sides.

BSFPerl is a Bean Scripting Framework (BSF) engine implementation that can be used to run Perl scripts from within Java, with no native code required. Java objects can be referenced transparently from Perl, and arbitrary Perl expressions are supported.
