Native Oberon Operating System

XDev is open and free set of compilers, additional tools, libraries and design patterns for cross-platform and embedded development in modular programming languages. You can develop projects in several languages at once. You can develop for different platforms, such as retro and new. Main goals and benefits of XDev =============================== + Simplicity, + Reliability, + Small size of the target machine code, + The widely using of the great achievements of the European school of programming, such as safe and modular programming languages - Oberon, Oberon-2, Component Pascal.

A goal of this project is not only produce a small funny game. It demonstates the power of Oberon technologies, shows how a game can be written to be launched under such different platforms. Portability is a strong feature of Oberons, and I use it, - Dash has portable game code (common for defferent platforms, written in Oberon-1) and non-portable layers to a hardware platform. Dash shows the portability and cross-platform in widely look, more than mainstream solutions can propose us. Yes, I believe that Oberon technologies are very perspective for future.

Simple DirectMedia Layer (www.libsdl.org) bindings for Oberon family languages: Modula-2 and Oberon-2 (XDS), Active Oberon (OPCL, ETH Oberon) and Component Pascal (BlackBox Component Builder). Supported SDL version 1.2.15 (stable).

Oberon-2 language revival

Ofront+ is a tool that translates programs in Oberon dialects into semantically equivalent C programs. Full error analysis is performed on the Oberon input program and in case of no errors up to three files are generated as output. Ofront+ does not invoke the C compiler or linkage editor. This may be done in separate shell scripts or make files and is inherently dependent on the C compiler and linkage editor being used. Although normally not read by the user, the C code generated by Ofront+ is kept as readable as possible, nicely formatted, should not produce any C compiler error messages or warnings and is tuned for efficient execution. In fact, an Oberon program translated by Ofront+ can be expected to execute as fast and read as well as an equivalent hand-coded C program. Ofront+ is based on Ofront by Software Templ OEG. OOC is an Oberon-2 development platform. It consists of an optimizing compiler, a number of related tools, a set of standard library modules, and a reference manual.

Meccala is a web blog system wo build a Tiny MVC (like struts.)to meet the requirement for our project, this kind of implementation performs perfect in our project.

An Oberon-2 compatible source code translator which will produce C++ or Object-C files from Oberon input files. Extensions will be included to allow infix operator definitions, enumerated types, complex numbers, strings, and OS interface modules.

"Niklaus' Zettel" is a collection of tiny software tools ("Zettel") solving small mathematical problems arising at school. It uses the OBERON programming language and OBERON operating systems.

Here you can find both an Oberon V4 system for Linux (x86) and a collection of Oberon V4 sources for various other platforms. Oberon V4 was implemented at ETH Zurich for several platforms. Binaries can be found on their server[1] and on the one of the University of Linz[2] where Mössenböck's group did further development after he left ETH and the Group at ETH concentrated on System 3. This compiler tries to detect pieces of code in a program that are not dependant and compile them in a way that the resulting code can be execuded in parallel on a runtime system built to support this. Only an experiment for my thesis.
