GEntrans is a collection of plug-ins and tools for the GStreamer multimedia framework. It provides a set of GStreamer elements useful in transcoding pipelines and an application to aid in running such pipelines. It also provides a plain and simple though capable and configurable GStreamer based multimedia player.

ViCuTo cuts video files and tries to limit recoding only to the boundaries of the video segments. You can use segments from different files and add other audio tracks. If the segments are encoded in different codecs ViCuTo recodes them to the codecs of the file that the longest parts of the segments come from, thus avoiding as much recoding as possible.
