Dhcpy6d delivers IPv6 addresses for DHCPv6 clients, which can be identified by DUID, hostname or MAC address as in the good old IPv4 days. It allows easy dualstack transistion, addresses may be generated randomly, by range, by arbitrary ID or MAC address. Clients can get more than one address, leases and client configuration can be stored in databases and DNS can be updated dynamically.

Originally written by Paul Vixie in 1986 and distributed through mod.sources, "display" is a program which will repeatedly execute a command and display the output through curses. The purpose of this project is to maintain and extend display.

The primary intended use case is to monitor conditions via HTTP(S), with responses available in HTML and JSON formats. When you get back a response that includes one or more problems, you can then decide the appropriate course of action, which could include generating notifications and/or automating the replacement of a failing node with a new one. If you are monitoring health in a high-availability environment with a load balancer that returns responses from multiple nodes, please note that certain checks (e.g., disk and memory usage) will return responses specific to the node selected by the load balancer.

A cellphone is determined to be in proximity to the computer based on sniffing WiFi probe requests. Possible uses of howmanypeoplearearound include, monitoring foot traffic in your house with Raspberry Pis, seeing if your roommates are home, etc. There are a number of possible USB WiFi adapters that support monitor mode. Namely you want to find a USB adapter with one of the following chipsets: Atheros AR9271, Ralink RT3070, Ralink RT3572, or Ralink RT5572. You will be prompted for the WiFi adapter to use for scanning. Make sure to use an adapter that supports "monitor" mode. You can modify the scan time, designate the adapter, or modify the output using some command-line options.

This was born as many others from my need to turn on/off a computer in another room or see what is up before going to bed or be alerted by some intrusion in my local net via wi-fi. It needs a lot of improvements and I hope the community can help. New hosts are discovered via /etc/hosts and nmap but can be added manually too.

As this program is aimed at average parents I placed great emphasis on user-friendliness; both the graphical user interface and the command line interface are easy to use and well explained. NOTE: This was my first coding project. By design it is a potential SECURITY RISK. Now I know better, so I abandoned this project.
