Disappointed by the lack of good network apps in android/java I developed a collection of handy networking tools for everyday Android development. The javadoc should provide all information needed to understand the methods. The sample app is published on Google Play & F-Droid to allow you to quickly and easier test the library. Enjoy! This Android service will turn your Wi-Fi off when no application is actively using Wi-Fi for a certain amount of time while the screen is off. The service assumes that if Wi-Fi data transfer rate is less than 64KiB per minute for 15 minutes in a row then there's no application that actively uses Wi-Fi. With Router Remote you can connect to your router and change the configuration, restart it, and many other things from your phone.
