    iperf3

    iperf3

iperf3: A TCP, UDP, and SCTP network bandwidth measurement tool

iperf3 is the official iperf3 repository, a network performance measurement tool for testing maximum achievable bandwidth on IP networks. It supports TCP, UDP, and SCTP testing, making it useful for a wide range of network troubleshooting and benchmarking scenarios. The tool reports throughput, bitrate, packet loss, and other measurement details for each test. iperf3 was redesigned from the original iperf with a smaller codebase, a cleaner architecture, and library functionality that can be used by other programs. ...

    Ethr

    Ethr

Ethr is a comprehensive network measurement tool for TCP, UDP & ICMP

...The goal of this project is to provide a native tool for comprehensive network performance measurements of bandwidth, connections/s, packets/s, latency, loss & jitter, across multiple protocols such as TCP, UDP, HTTP, HTTPS, and across multiple platforms such as Windows, Linux and other Unix systems. Ethr takes inspiration from existing open-source network performance tools and builds upon those ideas. For Bandwidth measurement, it is similar to iPerf3, for TCP & UDP traffic. iPerf3 has many more options for doing such as throttled testing, richer feature set, while Ethr has support for multiple threads, which allows it to scale to 1024 or even higher number of connections, multiple clients communication to a single server etc. For latency measurements, it is similar to latte on Windows or sockperf on Linux.

...iperf version 2 (in this repository) is no longer maintained by its original developers. Current ESnet development efforts are focused on version 3 of iperf (otherwise known as iperf3), which is available at: https://github.com/esnet/iperf http://software.es.net/iperf Meanwhile, a third party has taken up development and maintenance of iperf2. As of this update (November 2017), this work can be found in the following repository: https://sourceforge.net/projects/iperf2/
