It includes Layer 2 autodiscovery based on LLDP and other discovery protocols (Cisco's CDP, Extreme Networks' EDP, etc.). Other features include: real time SVG graphs on links, web2cli engine (AJAX to Telnet/CLI), editable maps, auto layout (based esentially on GraphViz), VLAN mapping (work in progress) based on SNMP. -

SNMPAgent is a Cacti system plugin offering a memory persistent SNMP agent based on NET-SNMP. It includes the official Cacti MIB. This plugin allows other Cacti plugins to register custom MIB files as well as generating SNMP notifications. Additionally Cacti can Monitor itself or being monitored by a foreign NMS using SNMP. Graph and data templates are part of the download package. pysnmpfs is an extensible user-space filesystem engine written in Python to provide access to SNMP data in the same fashion as sysfs or procfs. The engine automatically caches data from SNMP agents and updates files as they are read. It relies upon extensions and defines a self-registered plugin API for fetching SNMP data. WhoisUP v0.3 monitors hosts via ICMP and shows the status in a web page. When a host is down, the script can send mail, syslog message, open a popup message or play a sound. Moreover, the script monitors if the host exceed the latency threshold limit. The script uses NMap to send ICMP packets and to save the host status into an XML file.
