A free sound editor, DarkAudacity is the well known Audacity sound editor now with a darker more modern theme - and a few small tweaks. The audio engine underneath is the same audio engine. The same code powers it. Like Audacity it is completely free. It's not a cut down trial evaluation version. You can record and play sounds, edit sounds, apply audio effects and save what you create for ringtones, podcasts and more. DarkAudacity is Open Source, free for you to download and use on your PC. Audacity and DarkAudacity come from a community effort. Many people have contributed to the audio code. Because they are Open Source, anyone is allowed to read and modify the source code. DarkAudacity is a variation on the Audacity software, made possible because Audacity is Open Source.

Toadflax is a graphical tool for displaying and editing/manipulating tunes in abc notation. It exists in two forms, Toadflax built using GTK and py_toadflax built using tkinter, the python window toolkit. It allows the user to load in abc music notation files and work on each one independently. The music is displayed on-screen, without needing to use a PostScript interpreter, making it a lightweight notation viewer. The Toadflax program uses a music renderer based on yaps, while py_toadflax uses the music renderer from the abcCairo project based on abcm2ps. The source can be hand-edited or transformed in various ways using an adaptation of the abc2abc program. Perhaps the most useful feature that this provides is transposition with the ability to instantly see the effect of a transposition.

slurry is a simple python program that plays sounds at random. it is being created primarily for an experimental film screening in June 2010. it will continue to be developed after this.

SuperBoucle is a loop based software fully controllable with any midi device. SuperBoucle is also synced with jack transport. You can use it on live performance or for composition. SuperBoucle is composed of a matrix of sample controllable with external midi device like pad. SuperBoucle will send back information to midi device (light up led). Sample will always start and stop on a beat or group of beats. You can adjust duration of sample (loop period) in beat and offset in beat. But you can also adjust sample offset in raw frame count negative or positive. Which mean sample can start before next beat (useful for reversed sample). You can record loop of any size, adjust BPM, reverse, normalize samples, ... Typical usage : * You need to control jack transport with external midi device and want a button to jump to a specified location in song. * You have some instruments patterns but you have no idea of song structure. * You make live performance with pre-recorded instruments.
