    Chord Reporter

Linux program displays the names of musical chords as you play them.

Chord Reporter (hereafter abbreviated to CR) is a software program that displays the names of chords, as you play them (upon some MIDI controller or from a MIDI sequencer track). The second version is a Linux executable that runs on its own. You can directly attach your MIDI controller to this version to review the chords you're playing (as you play them). A suitable MIDI controller would be either a MIDI keyboard, a guitar equipped with a MIDI pickup such as the Fishman triple play, or even an electric guitar pickup plugged into a computer audio interface running pitch-to-MIDI software.
