Popcorn Time for iOS

PopcornTimeTV was an Apple TV, iPhone and iPad application to torrent movies and tv shows for streaming. Since 2016, this project has grown exponentially - both in its user base and in its functionality. However, the team size has gone the other way. We went from having 13+ developers on the team to 1 developer and 1 designer, both of whom have lives and projects outside of Popcorn Time. We have decided that we have given our all to this project and it's time for us to move on to pursue greater things. There is no doubt that this comes with a heavy heart as we have learned so much from this project and watched it grow from this simple torrenting app that could only play 720p video, to what it is today. All that being said, we do not want this project to just die after we leave. The size of the project might be a bit daunting to an unseasoned developer but the app is extremely stable and packed with almost every feature you could need. -

Asset Catalog Tinkerer lets you open asset catalog files (.car) and view the images that they contain. You can also copy and export individual images out or export all images from an asset catalog. Asset Catalog Tinkerer was designed with images in mind, so it doesn't support some of the more modern asset catalog features, such as PDFs, SVGs, or colors. It may or may not be updated in the future to support those. The app also includes a QuickLook PlugIn so you can see previews of asset catalogs in QuickLook. -

This is a macOS app for the gifski encoder, which converts videos to GIF animations using pngquant's fancy features for efficient cross-frame palettes and temporal dithering. It produces animated GIFs that use thousands of colors per frame and up to 50 FPS (useful for showing off design work on Dribbble). You can also produce smaller lower quality GIFs when needed with the “Quality” slider, thanks to gifsicle. Gifski supports all the video formats that macOS supports (.mp4 or .mov with H264, HEVC, ProRes, etc). The QuickTime Animation format is not supported. Use ProRes 4444 XQ instead. It's more efficient, more widely supported, and like QuickTime Animation, it also supports alpha channel. Gifski has a bunch of settings like changing dimensions, speed, frame rate, quality, looping, and more. -

We designed a UI that allows users to switch between list and grid views on the fly and choose the most convenient display type. List view usually provides more details about each user or contact. Grid view allows more users or contacts to appear on the screen at the same time. We created design mockups for both list and grid views using Sketch. As soon as the mockups were ready, we used Principle to create a smooth transition between the two display types. Note that the hamburger menu changes its appearance depending on which view is activated. -

If you are building your app with iOS 10 or newer, you need to add two privacy keys to your app to allow the usage of the camera and photo library, or your app will crash. Add the keys below to your Info.plist, adding strings with the description you want to provide when prompting the user. The success parameter returns a UIImage? and a PHAsset? for more advanced use cases. If the user canceled photo capture then both of these options will be nil. -

With the AR MultiPendulum app, I created the world’s first AR headset experience that does not rely on expensive specialized hardware. Using Google Cardboard, a standard iPhone, and video footage from the phone’s camera, the app creates an AR headset experience by rendering the user’s surroundings in VR. AR MultiPendulum allows users to interact with virtual objects directly with their hand instead of tapping an object's location on a touchscreen. It brings a mesmerizing multi-pendulum simulation into augmented reality. Users interact with this simulation through hand movements and modify it through a holographic interface. Not only does this app bring augmented reality to a pendulum simulation, it is also the first app to simulate more than three pendulums. Additionally, by repurposing a VR headset for AR, this is the first app that gives users an affordable AR headset experience.
