guivideo chung is a free mci compatible based video player using gui_chung and mcisendstring , with window resizing, play / pause, step, repeat/repeatA->B , slow forward, fast forward, speed (10%...300%), cursor. It is written in compiled freebasic and can run on a small netbook. (can read avi,wmv,gif,...any mci compatible format, speed functions work better with wmv )

Pics will change randomly. Resize or maximize to suit your needs. I recommend organizing copies of pics into folders, rather than using originals. Just select all images and drop them into the window. -

A generalization of Conway's Game of Life
Conway's Game of Life is generalized to a continuous domain. OpenGL and GLSL shaders are used for real-time 2D and 3D graphics. Time stepping is done via a real to complex FFT based convolution operation. There are also two deliberately simple test implementations in FreeBasic and Matlab. A 2D version on a sphere shows that it is really not dependent on the underlying grid. -
