Open Source Mac Media Servers

LMS is an open source multi-room audio system. It was created by SlimDevices and then acquired by Logitech. Although Logitech has ended development of hardware devices, the project is still very active with lots of plugin released regularly. New hardware players can be added using PI devices and DAC board to build high-quality multi-room. I've created some extra plugins, especially to include new standard hardware/players to the LMS ecosystem: UPnP/DLNA (Sonos), ChromeCast and AirPlay.

We believe in keeping our software open and transparent, and anything we might collect (crash logs, etc.) is opt-in only. We’re also not in the media business, so the only media you see is your own.

Galleon is a home media server using TiVo's discontinued HME protocol. It only works on TiVo versions earlier than 20.7.2. The project is not actively maintained. If you want to maintain it, contact the admins.

An open-source manga server and web reader. Mango is an open-source manga server and web reader. You can think of it as Plex for your manga collections. With Mango, you can manage and read your manga with a responsive web interface. On amd64 Linux, Mango can be deployed with a single binary that includes all the dependencies and static files. Upgrading to a new version is as easy as replacing the binary with a new one. Mango is written in Crystal, a compiled language that offers C-level performance and a safe type system. Thanks to this, Mango uses very little CPU and RAM resources. The web pages served by Mango are mostly rendered on the backend to make the web interface more responsive. Mango has a long list of configuration options while offering sane default values to them. Mango has a built-in MangaDex downloader, but you can easily install official or third-party plugins to download from other sites.

Airsonic is a free, web-based media streamer, providing ubiquitous access to your music. Use it to share your music with friends, or to listen to your own music while at work. You can stream to multiple players simultaneously, for instance to one player in your kitchen and another in your living room. Airsonic is designed to handle very large music collections (hundreds of gigabytes). Although optimized for MP3 streaming, it works for any audio or video format that can stream over HTTP, for instance AAC and OGG. By using transcoder plug-ins, Airsonic supports on-the-fly conversion and streaming of virtually any audio format, including WMA, FLAC, APE, Musepack, WavPack and Shorten. If you have constrained bandwidth, you may set an upper limit for the bit rate of the music streams. Airsonic will then automatically re-sample the music to a suitable bit rate.

Media File Duplicate Finder finds duplicated video and image files based on similarity. Finds duplicates which have different resolution, frame rate, watermark, and video file tags. A DLNA compatible, fully transcoding, media server designed for serving media (movies, TV shows, music, photos) to DLNA compliant televisions and media players (Streamium, PS3, XBox 360). Also subtitles and audio language selection are supported.

Simple Plex Media Server Webmin module, this module allows you to perform basic service overview/control for the Plex Media Server component installed on your system for convenience, the module supports FreeBSD, Debian/Ubuntu, Redhat/CentOS/Fedora and Gentoo, but can be configured for many more distributions supporting the Plex Media Server.

Firefly Client is a standalone java client for Firefly Media Server. This software allows to remotely connect to a Firefly Media Server given the server name and the port.

The project does audio/video encoding and muxing into F-MP4 format, used by Microsoft IIS Smooth Streaming. Currently implemented features include multicam support, distributed encoding (1 cam - 1 PC), uploading F-MP4 stream to media server.

This is a community driven port of Plex Home Theater for the raspberry pi. The port is lead by Dale Hamel, with help from various members of the plex community. Plex has also been helpful in the creation of rasplex, and has supported the effort.
