    xfemm

Cross platform electromagnetics finite element analyisis based on FEMM

Cross platform electromagnetics finite element analysis code, with very tight integration with Matlab/Octave. Development of xfemm now takes place on Github here: https://github.com/REOptimize-Systems/xfemm xfemm is a refactoring of the core algorithms of the popular Windows-only FEMM (Finite Element Method Magnetics, www.femm.info) to use only the standard template library and therefore be cross-platform.

The Free Finite Element Package is a library which contains numerical methods required when working with finite elements. The goal of FFEP is to provide basic functions for approximating the solution of elliptic and parabolic PDEs in 2D. Until 2016 FFEP was developed using C. Science 2016 the language was switched to GNU Octave with some C Mex-Functions.

    ArchNURBS

    ArchNURBS

NURBS-based elastic and limit analysis of masonry arches in MATLAB

...As in CAD softwares, the geometry of the model is defined by a NURBS representation of the structure. Indeed, the user can upload geometries imported from a CAD environment. Based on such a representation, ArchNURBS performs the elastic isogeometric finite element analysis and the collapse limit analysis of the structure. It is possible to include in the analysis the presence of Fiber-Reinforced Polymers (FRP) extrados and intrados strips. A comprehensive descritpion of ArchNURBS is given in "ArchNURBS: NURBS-Based Tool for the Structural Safety Assessment of Masonry Arches in MATLAB", A. ...

    MICROMECHANICS

    MICROMECHANICS

A collection of lecture notes and accompanying code on micromechanics

...The MATLAB codes are used for visualization, evaluating analytical bounds and estimates as well as in the generation of digital and particulate microstructures. The Fortran codes are based on the finite element method in linear and nonlinear settings, the latter capable of finite deformations with damage. The underlying theory is outlined in the lecture notes. -- İlker Temizer Assistant Professor Department of Mechanical Engineering Bilkent University 06800 Bilkent, Ankara Turkey

    XFEM

    XFEM implementation in MATLAB

The extended finite element method (XFEM) classified, one of the partition of unity method (PUM), allows discontinuities to be simulated independently of the mesh. This is possible by adding appropriate functions to the FE approximation basis, for example, the Heaviside function. The discontinuities can evolve in time, without a need for a conforming mesh.
