    REDUCE

    REDUCE

A Portable General-Purpose Computer Algebra System

REDUCE is an interactive system for general algebraic computations of interest to mathematicians, scientists and engineers. It can be used interactively for simple calculations but also provides a flexible and expressive user programming language. The development of the REDUCE computer algebra system was started in the 1960s by Anthony C. Hearn. Since then, many scientists from all over the world have contributed to its development. REDUCE has a long and distinguished place in the...

    Belief Reviser

Belief Revision via PS-Merge under constraints belief merging operator

...Such new evidence is usually represented in the form of a propositional formula which must be preserved after the revision. Here, the Δps (PS-Merge) belief merging operator is extended in order to consider constraints, and this extension is used as a strategy for belief revision. The new evidence is treated as a constraint so the extended merging operator can obtain the revised belief base.

    PortOpt

    PortOpt

    A portfolio-optimizer using Markowitz(1952) mean-variance model

PortOpt [Portfolio Optimizer] is a C++ program (with Python binding) implementing the Markowitz(1952) mean-variance model with agent's linear indifference curves toward risk in order to find the optimal assets portfolio under risk. You have to provide PortOpt (in text files or - if you use the api - using your own code) the variance/covariance matrix of the assets, their average returns and the agent risk preference. It returns the vector of assets' shares that composes the optimal portfolio. In order to minimise the variance it internally uses QuadProg++, a library that implement the algorithm of Goldfarb and Idnani for the solution of a (convex) Quadratic Programming problem by means of an active-set dual method. ...

    JBernstein

    JBernstein

JBernstein: Exploration techniques for non-linear constraint checking

...The underlying algorithm is based on a translation to Bernstein polynomials, and several optimization techniques are implemented to ensure efficiency. Concerning performance, the tool enables to check all examples in the PVS Bernstein testsuite within a second, which can be an order of magnitude faster than some other tools such as QEPCAD or REDLOG. Although JBernstein uses double, it offers automatic error-estimation capabilities (experimental) so that the generated result is correct (the solver may return unknown when the error-estimate is too large)
