    Kicker Scheduling

    Generating kicker playing schedules

This software is to generate kicker playing schedules that should be as fair as possible. There are the following hard constraints: - Each match consists of 4 players, with 2 teams of 2 players each. - All players participating at the whole schedule will be included in the same number of matches. The following optimization objectives are being regarded: - Each player should be scheduled for each table position equally often. - All combinations of team-mates should happen equally...

    Makes magic squares.

These programs make magic squares and rectangles using "Constraint-Based Local Search". (For non-square rectangles, input the order as two numbers.) There are 3 similar programs: CompleteSquare, CompleteSquareSteps, and MagicSquares. Given an input square with some cell values between 1 and NxN specified, (and other cell values 0), CompleteSquare attempts to complete a magic square by placing the remaining values.

SparesPOP is a MATLAB implementation of a sparse semidefinite programming (SDP) relaxation method proposed for polynomial optimization problems (POPs). Please send a message to kojima-spop@is.titech.ac.jp if you have any question and/or request. We also release SparsePOPC++ and SparsePOPC++-windows. Both implementations are SparsePOP which does not use MATLAB, but only C++. In particular, SparsePOPC++-windows contains a binary file which works on Windows, and does not require to compile.

    popt4jlib

    Parallel Optimization Library for Java

...Implements a number of meta-heuristic algorithms for Non-Linear Programming, including Genetic Algorithms, Differential Evolution, Evolutionary Algorithms, Simulated Annealing, Particle Swarm Optimization, Firefly Algorithm, Monte-Carlo Search, Local Search algorithms, Gradient-Descent-based algorithms, as well as some well-known network flow and other graph algorithms. A fast parallel implementation of the network simplex method, and some full-fledged parallel/distributed MIP solvers will be added in the next version. In general, emphasis is given in improving the efficiency of the algorithms in shared-memory models via java threads, since multi-core machines are so wide-spread today.

    SWire

    SWire

A Stata plugin for connecting Stata with other software

...SWire is in essence a wrapper around the Stata-Java API and all the functions relating to this API can, therefore, be externally called by clients. SWire can be interrogated on a local network and it accepts AJAX queries, thus enabling the development of web applications which provide the user with graphical user interfaces. For example, a web application running on a browser can interact with Stata on a local network; this application could be a data entry form or an automatic report. By providing a communication protocol, SWire makes it possible to connect Stata with many other applications for data exchange and basic interaction, thereby extending the capabilities of Stata. ...

    HistoryCal

    HistoryCal

A calculator to work with historical dates and calendars.

...The calculator also has a script language that allows you to create variations of the built-in calendars: calendars that shift the new year to a different day; hybrid calendars that switch between schemes; local observational calendars that depend on a particular location; year counts that change for specific eras (regnal calendars) and calendars that require adjustment due to subtle differences in calculation.

    Ship Lock Scheduling

Scheduling lockages at ship locks with several parallel lock chambers

This Java software includes algorithms of combinatorical optimization for the NP-hard offline ship lock scheduling problem. Solutions and performed computations can be displayed graphically. Besides, there is a framework for generating test instances and running these in parallel, as well as R/JGR code for statistical evaluation. Some tools for estimating the quality of calculated solutions will be further improved. Initially the software was developed within a project of TU Berlin regarding...

    Fingerprint Recognition System

Fingerprint Recognition System 5.3 - Matlab source code

The proposed filter-based algorithm uses a bank of Gabor filters to capture both local and global details in a fingerprint as a compact fixed length FingerCode. The fingerprint matching is based on the Euclidean distance between the two corresponding FingerCodes and hence is extremely fast. We are able to achieve a verification accuracy which is only marginally inferior to the best results of minutiae-based algorithms published in the open literature.

    Hanoi in Basic

The Famous Recursive Algorithm In Old-Fashioned BASIC

This program is written in BWBasic, the version provided with DOSEMU, the DOS emulator. In this version of BASIC, you use GOSUB to call a procedure, and there are no local variables. So I used arrays to allocate memory for stacks, from where the "local variables" are taken. From this code you can learn how recursion and functions with dynamic local variables work.

Water Retention on Magic Squares Solver

Water Retention on Magic Squares with Constraint-Based Local Search

A Constraint-Based Local Search solver for the Water Retention on Magic Squares-problem. The problem is a very hard combinatorial optimisation problem, invented by Craig Knecht. More can be read about it at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_retention_on_mathematical_surfaces Craig's website for the problem: http://www.knechtmagicsquare.paulscomputing.com/ The solver is mainly based on the theory and ideas from my bachelor thesis, which I wrote at Uppsala University, Sweden, for the Astra Group which does research about Constraint Programming and related technologies: Water Retention on Magic Squares with Constraint-Based Local Search http://urn.kb.se/resolve?...
