The goal of the OSM2PostGIS project is to develop an OpenStreetMap data processor that can import any amount of .osm XML data into a PostGIS database, and produce evaluated navigation network topologies to support routing.

A very simple command line tool to convert OSM files to Shapefiles. Written in Java. Think of it as a self-study project.

This Programm gets the Data from Openstreetmap and converts it to an Layerd SVG File for Inkscape. All conversion is don via a stylesheet. Here is defined what schould be shown and how it is displayed. You can get various styled Maps from the same Data with different sytelsheets. The Stylesheets are Javascript files and easy cusomizeable. (You should have a bit knowledge of OSM tags then it will be easyer to understand)

Plus Codes are based on a set of 20 alphanumeric characters. They do not include easily confused characters, are not case-sensitive, and exclude vowels. Plus Codes represent an area. The resolution of the area can be changed by adding or removing characters after the “+” sign. Simple, free to use, open-source digital addressing, for the entire world.

This project is for an iPhone/iPad viewer that is used to display FAA digital aviation charts. It also includes the support files necessary to prepare digital charts as downloadable tiles and a point of sale web site used by end users to obtain the charts. The viewer's features includes generating track points, which can be saved as GPX. The viewer can also be used to plot flights. The point of sale purchase system is Drupal based with a MySQL database. The remote device connects to the database using a Glassfish server and Jersey. This app has been available on Apple's iTunes App Store for over two years and has a 4+ star ratings. I have moved on to other things and while I've been maintaining it I'd like to see it continue to improve. That's is why I'm releasing it as an open source project.
