LAnd Survey Tools "LAST" was created to preserve and expand on the work invested in an old, privately used, DOS based land survey construction and data collection application by porting much of the C++ coded logic and design concept over to Python.

The R-tree Library aims to implement a generic, portable, easy-to-use collection of R-tree variants. Tested to work under Linux and Windows, using GNU, Intel and VC++ compilers, and also implementing many variants already, we are well underway.

While there are other open-source GIS, and image-processing packages available, this one is designed to be comprehensive, work on 3 major platforms, user-extensible, fast, and able to handle huge datasets.
