    python-is-cool

    python-is-cool

Cool Python features for machine learning

python-is-cool is an educational repository created by AI researcher Chip Huyen that explores lesser-known features and powerful capabilities of the Python programming language. The project serves as a curated guide to Python techniques that many developers may overlook or hesitate to use due to unfamiliarity. It demonstrates practical language features, idiomatic programming patterns, and useful tricks that can make Python code more expressive, efficient, and elegant. Much of the content is presented through interactive Jupyter notebooks so users can experiment directly with the examples and understand how each feature behaves in practice. The repository targets developers who already know basic Python but want to deepen their understanding of the language’s advanced features. By highlighting lesser-known constructs and practical programming patterns, the project helps developers write cleaner and more efficient Python code in real applications.

Rust native ready-to-use NLP pipelines and transformer-based models

rust-bert is a Rust-based implementation of transformer-based natural language processing models that provides ready-to-use pipelines for tasks such as text classification, summarization, and question answering. The project ports many capabilities of the Hugging Face Transformers ecosystem into the Rust programming language. It allows developers to run state-of-the-art NLP models like BERT, GPT-2, and DistilBERT directly within Rust applications while maintaining high performance and memory efficiency. The library integrates with Rust machine learning infrastructure using crates such as tch-rs and ONNX Runtime for model execution. It also includes tokenization utilities, model architectures, and task-specific pipelines that simplify the development of NLP applications. Because Rust is known for its safety and performance, this project enables developers to deploy modern NLP models in production systems written in Rust.

    satellite-image-deep-learning

Resources for deep learning with satellite & aerial imagery

This page lists resources for performing deep learning on satellite imagery. To a lesser extent classical Machine learning (e.g. random forests) are also discussed, as are classical image processing techniques. Note there is a huge volume of academic literature published on these topics, and this repository does not seek to index them all but rather list approachable resources with published code that will benefit both the research and developer communities. If you find this work useful please give it a star and consider sponsoring it. You can also follow me on Twitter and LinkedIn where I aim to post frequent updates on my new discoveries, and I have created a dedicated group on LinkedIn. I have also started a blog here and have published a post on the history of this repository called Dissecting the satellite-image-deep-learning repo.

    segment-geospatial

    segment-geospatial

A Python package for segmenting geospatial data with the SAM

The segment-geospatial package draws its inspiration from segment-anything-eo repository authored by Aliaksandr Hancharenka. To facilitate the use of the Segment Anything Model (SAM) for geospatial data, I have developed the segment-anything-py and segment-geospatial Python packages, which are now available on PyPI and conda-forge. My primary objective is to simplify the process of leveraging SAM for geospatial data analysis by enabling users to achieve this with minimal coding effort. I have adapted the source code of segment-geospatial from the segment-anything-eo repository, and credit for its original version goes to Aliaksandr Hancharenka.

    seq2seq-couplet

    seq2seq-couplet

    Play couplet with seq2seq model

seq2seq-couplet is a deep learning application that generates Chinese couplet responses using a sequence-to-sequence model built with TensorFlow. Its purpose is not general machine translation, but a specialized text generation task in which the model produces a matching second line for a given first line in the style of traditional couplets. The repository includes the code needed to train the model, configure file paths and hyperparameters, and evaluate progress through loss and BLEU score tracking. It also supports serving the trained model through a web service, allowing users to interact with the system after training is complete. In addition to local execution, the project includes Docker files, which make it easier to package and deploy the application in a more reproducible way. The repository also points users to an external dataset source and documents vocabulary formatting requirements for custom datasets, showing that it is meant for both experimentation and extension.

A facet can have value(s) that designates that sample as "sensitive". Bias detection and mitigation for datasets and models. The label is a column or feature which is the target for training a machine learning model. The label can have value(s) that designates that sample as having a "positive" outcome. A bias measure is a function that returns a bias metric. A bias metric is a numerical value indicating the level of bias detected as determined by a particular bias measure. snntorch

    snntorch

Deep and online learning with spiking neural networks in Python

snntorch is a deep learning library that enables researchers and developers to build and train spiking neural networks using the PyTorch framework. Spiking neural networks are biologically inspired models that communicate through discrete spike events rather than continuous activation values, making them closer to how neurons operate in the brain. The library extends PyTorch’s tensor computation capabilities to support gradient-based learning for networks composed of spiking neurons. This allows researchers to train spiking neural models using familiar deep learning workflows while taking advantage of GPU acceleration and automatic differentiation. snnTorch provides implementations of common spiking neuron models, surrogate gradient training methods, and utilities for handling temporal neural dynamics. Because spiking neural networks operate over time and encode information through spike timing, the library includes tools for simulating temporal behavior.

    spaGO

    spaGO

Self-contained Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing lib

A Machine Learning library written in pure Go designed to support relevant neural architectures in Natural Language Processing. Spago is self-contained, in that it uses its own lightweight computational graph both for training and inference, easy to understand from start to finish. The core module of Spago relies only on testify for unit testing. In other words, it has "zero dependencies", and we are committed to keeping it that way as much as possible. Spago uses a multi-module workspace to ensure that additional dependencies are downloaded only when specific features (e.g. persistent embeddings) are used. A good place to start is by looking at the implementation of built-in neural models, such as the LSTM. Except for a few linear algebra operations written in assembly for optimal performance (a bit of copying from Gonum), it's straightforward Go code, so you don't have to worry.

    spark-ml-source-analysis

    spark-ml-source-analysis

Spark ml algorithm principle analysis and specific source code

spark-ml-source-analysis is a technical repository that analyzes the internal implementation of machine learning algorithms within Apache Spark’s MLlib library. The project aims to help developers and data scientists understand how distributed machine learning algorithms are implemented and optimized inside the Spark ecosystem. Instead of providing a runnable software system, the repository focuses on explaining algorithm principles and examining the underlying source code used in Spark’s machine learning package. The repository contains detailed analyses of various algorithms including classification, regression, clustering, dimensionality reduction, and recommendation systems. Each section discusses both the mathematical principles behind the algorithms and how Spark implements them in a distributed computing environment. By studying these implementations, readers gain insight into how large-scale machine learning pipelines operate across distributed data systems.

    surpriver

    surpriver

Find big moving stocks before they move using machine learning

surpriver is a machine learning project designed to identify unusual stock market activity that may precede large price movements. The system analyzes historical stock price and volume data to detect anomalies that could indicate potential trading opportunities. By applying machine learning techniques to market indicators, the tool attempts to identify patterns in trading behavior that deviate significantly from normal market activity. These anomalies are interpreted as signals that a stock may soon experience a major upward or downward move. The framework includes modules for retrieving market data, computing technical indicators, and applying anomaly detection algorithms to identify unusual patterns. The project is intended as a research tool for quantitative finance experiments and algorithmic trading strategy development.
