The organisms use swarm intelligence & ant colony optimization. The organisms can communicate through 3-color signaling as well as by laying beacons. They can attack and repair other organisms. They can select mates, and they can gather and distribute food and material. This behavior is controlled by a genetically evolved neural net augmented with online back propagation learning. The back propagation learning uses a reward vector and plasticity matrix that is evolved as part of the genome. Long story short, the AI is pretty frickin' sophisticated. Players can take control of organisms, trade resources and organisms in a market, and aid evolution by selective breeding.

We present an open-source computational framework for segmentation and tracking of cell nuclei with high accuracy and speed. We demonstrate its (1) generality, by reconstructing cell lineages in four-dimensional, terabyte-sized image data of fruit-fly, zebrafish and mouse embryos, acquired with three different types of fluorescence microscopes, (2) scalability, by analyzing advanced stages of development with up to 20,000 cells per time point, at 26,000 cells min-1 on a single computer workstation, and (3) ease of use, by adjusting only two parameters across all data sets and providing visualization and editing tools for efficient data curation. Fuzzy Ecospace Modelling (FEM) is an R-based program for quantifying and comparing functional disparity, using a fuzzy set theory-based machine learning approach. FEM clusters n-dimensional matrices of functional traits (ecospace matrices – here called the Training Matrix) into functional groups and converts them into fuzzy functional groups using fuzzy discriminant analysis (Lin and Chen 2004 – see main text for more information). Following this, FEM classifies the functional entities from a second matrix (the Test Matrix) into the groups made using the Training Matrix, generating fuzzy membership values for each unit in the Test Matrix. These values are real numbers from 0 to 1, representing increasing degrees of “truth” regarding an organism’s membership in the fuzzy set (see main text). A value of 0 represents non-membership in the fuzzy set, and a value of 1 represents total membership in the fuzzy set. Values in between represent degrees of niche overlap.

GNAT is a BioNLP/text mining tool to recognize and identify gene/protein names in natural language text. It will detect mentions of genes in text, such as PubMed/Medline abstracts, and disambiguate them to remove false positives and map them to the correct entry in the NCBI Entrez Gene database by gene ID. Difference is, this program is intelligent and it accepts your input data and then predicts keywords based on your likes or dislikes. As the main engine, it uses the SMOReg algorithm to analyze and map the keyword frequencies of your data. This can be a great SEO tool to help increase the traffic of any website featuring a product.

JCLAL is a general purpose framework developed in Java for the active learning research area. JCLAL framework is open source software and it is distributed under the GNU general public license.
