Application simulates the incipience of laser radiation

The dynamics of the population of energy levels and the power of stimulated radiation in laser amplifying media is modeled by solving a system of rate equations. The application was developed for students to explain the time dependence of laser power they observed. The material constants of the active medium of the laser used are specified in the configuration file. The application allows you to interactively select the pump speed and quality factor of the resonator by observing the time dependencies of the inverse population and laser radiation power.

    HiFi-SoRaP

    HiFi-SoRaP

High Fidelity Solar Raytracing Project (HiFi-SoRaP)

The aim of this project is to develop an efficient way of computing the solar radiation pressure acceleration that acts on a spacecraft. This acceleration is produced by the impact of the photons emitted by the Sun onto a spacecraft's surface. This collision generates an acceleration which affects its motion and has a relevant effect on a long-term propagation. This proposal studies which models can be used to approximate the computation of this acceleration.

    Alpha Dose Rate Calculator (ADRC)

    Alpha Dose Rate Calculator (ADRC)

Alpha radiation code for dosimetry calculations by Angus Siberry

ADRC is a geometrical alpha radiation code designed to calculate doses from radionuclide-containing solids exposed by surrounding media. The current version is only applicable to UO2 in water (radiolysis rates are also calculated in the results). More radionuclide containing materials and surrounding media options coming soon. **Note: All previous versions before v2 have an outdated script and any results used from simulations should be updated, reasons for this are explained in the technical release notes** UPDATE: This project has been migrated and developed to a cloud-based web application (http://rad-dose.herokuapp.com/)

    PatientKAPRecords

    PatientKAPRecords

KAP evaluation and patient records in radiodiagnostic

This program tries to help radiologists to keep track of patients which receive radiation doses (measured, or computed, free in air) from radiodiagnostic examinations. It performs computation of KAP (kerma-area-product if it is not recorded by a dedicated DAP-meter) and record the patient information. The program also generates elegant reports which can be converted as pdf, xls etc. Source code included in jar files.

    DoseInHumanBody

    DoseInHumanBody

Patient dose from medical X-ray and other sources

DHPRE software uses Geant4 simulation toolkit for computing organ doses, effective dose and lifetime atributable cancer risk for humans exposed to external radiation field. It is mainly used for patients undergoing X-ray examinations such as radiography, mammography, dental panoramic and CT but can be used for any kind of radiations. INTERFACE is a small program to compute the correction to dosimeter reading when used in conditions other than the calibration ones. This package does not contain all data required to run, i.e. does not contain GEANT4 libraries and GEANT4 nuclear data (for saving space). ...

    DetectorCalibration

    DetectorCalibration

Peak and global efficiency of radiation source-detector equipment

This software uses Geant4 simulation toolkit for computing detector efficiency in terms of peak efficiency and gross efficiency. It is designed mainly for gamma detectors (NaI or HpGe) but can be extended for beta or any other radiation type. Radiation source can be frontal beam, point source, Sarpagan baker (cylinder) and Marinelli baker. Due to the nature of Monte Carlo simulation technique, all geometries involved must be well known for accurate results! Can be used along with RadiationHelper (Beta_Gamma_MC module with Geant4 checkbox selected) but make sure that inside RadiationHelper folder there is MonteCarloPath.txt file having the first line pointing to the path of detector.exe folder (e.g. ...

    stellarics

Inverse Compton emission from heliospheres of sun and stars

Cosmic ray electrons scatter on the photon fields around stars, including the sun, to create gamma rays by the inverse Compton effect. This program computes the spectrum and angular distribution of this emission. The software also includes general-purpose routines for inverse Compton scattering on a given electron spectrum, for example for interstellar or astrophysical source modelling. TTV

Tensor total variation for low-dose CT perfusion

We have developed a robust and efficient framework to accurately estimate the perfusion parameters at low radiation dosage. Specifically, we present a tensor total-variation (TTV) technique which fuses the spatial correlation of the vascular structure and the temporal continuation of the blood signal flow. An efficient algorithm is proposed to find the solution with fast convergence and reduced computational complexity.

Automated reporting of Geiger Muller counter readings to RadMon.org

...Or, if you do not believe that a nuclear bomb is likely, what about all the Chernobyl-style Soviet-era nuclear power stations still in service? The point is: let us work together as free people to jointly report and track radiation levels around the globe. Information is power--and more importantly, information can save lives. This project is known to work on Raspberry Pi and various Linux distributions. Both PyRadMon and RadMon.org are completely free, though donations are always appreciated.
