GDSread is a simple command line utility written in Free Pascal. GDSread can read and convert a Calma GDS stream file and output an ASCII formatted list file and a new GDS file with updated timestamp. If specified - it can modify the output GDS database by scaling it and/or replace cell names. Check out readme.rtf.

Project CAPLET is a capacitance extraction toolkit that extract capacitance at field-solver accuracy. CAPLET can directly handle GDS2 layout files into capacitance matrices in both GUI and command line interfaces. The internal extraction algorithm is specialized for VLSI interconnect structures but not exclusively, as long as the structure is of Manhattan geometry and embedded in a uniform dielectric material.

graphICs is used to visualize IC-layout-data from GDS II-files. It reads a stream of GDS II-records, optimizes it by removing objects smaller than a user-defined minimal size an writes it to Asymptote-code.
