    shelloid-vpt

Rethinking VPNs: Service access without network access

...The VPT project's vision is to make remote access to network-enabled services simpler and safer for end-users. Unlike VPNs, VPT does not provide network-level access between participating devices. As a result VPT users are not vulnerable to firewall misconfigurations and do not have to deal with complex firewall rules for security. Moreover, any potential compromises in a participating system has much lesser impact on other systems since the network perimeter is not extended to include all the participating devices. VPT internally works using a novel secure multi-hop port-forwarding technique by setting up virtual on-demand end-to-end tunnels carrying transport-layer data (VPN tunnels carry network-layer data).

    Linux Exploit Suggester

    Linux Exploit Suggester

Linux Exploit Suggester; based on operating system release number

Linux Exploit Suggester is a lightweight Perl script designed to help security testers quickly identify local Linux kernel privilege-escalation candidates by matching the host’s kernel/OS release string against a curated list of known vulnerable versions. It runs uname -r by default (or accepts a manual -k kernel string) and prints a suggestive, human-readable list of possible exploit names, CVEs, and references that match that kernel version. The tool intentionally keeps its logic simple: it performs string matching and warns that patched or back-ported kernels can mislead results, so its output should be treated as pointers for further verification rather than definitive proof of exploitable code. ...

    Heartbleed

    Heartbleed

A checker (site and tool) for CVE-2014-0160

...It focuses on demonstrating and testing the flaw rather than being a general-purpose security toolkit, which makes the code approachable for learning and auditing. The project illustrates how a malformed heartbeat request could coax vulnerable servers into leaking memory contents, including potentially sensitive data. Because it’s small and self-contained, it’s often used as a reference to understand the vulnerability mechanics without wading through large codebases. The repo also serves as a historical snapshot of a watershed moment in modern Internet security and the practical lessons it forced the industry to learn. ...
