...I needed this and thought at first that everyone and their brother had already written a simple program to output a sound using the default sound device on a windows 32 or 64 computer by typing tone plus frequency and duration (in milliseconds) Tone 1000 2000 (1khz at 2 seconds) great for server farms. This is a simple CPU burn program for the major UNIX systems: AIX, BSD, HP-UX, Linux, Solaris etc (full list in the source file #defines) and Windows. It will discover the number of available CPU cores and fork enough threads to create a load on all cores by default. The number of threads and memory block size can be changed from the command line.

As the project was compiled in Win XP (32 bits), it may not work on win 7, or 64bit architecture. In the .rar archive, you'll find two executable files: "Scrnaver.exe" and "Scrn_saver.scr". Novel Sequence Identification Tool
...Novel sequences are defined as DNA sequences in the de novo assembly that are longer than 100 bp, not known-repeats, and not present in the reference assembly. NSIT was written in C++ and runs on both 32-bit and 64-bit Linux machines. It requires about 2 GB of RAM. NSIT comes with a JAVA graphical viewer which can be used to view how the identified novel sequences compare with other sequence sets.
