An open source video streaming server
Baus can stream in jpeg format, and swf over http. The server also can record flv videos. Baus streams in public and private mode using a token authentication method to ensure only authorized clients to watch videos. Baus run on linux and works with /dev/video devices. The server can also stream from low-cost multi-plexed DVR cards. Baus is build on ffmpeg libs (libav), and it is written in ANSI C, using the Eclipse IDE. A sample PHP client is provided for test purpose. -

Jkaptive itself just presents the login page,checks the token and places netfilter rules. Telling apart ticketed from unticketed traffic is done through Linux' netfilter. As no proxy server is involved, jkaptive has no performance penalty, nor does it create problems with non-http traffic.
