DocBatchConverter is a Graphical User Interface (GUI) client, written in Java, that uses the OpenOffice program as a server. OpenOffice actually does the conversions. When DocBatchConverter starts up, it also starts OpenOffice. Then, to request a conversion, DocBatchConverter communicates with OpenOffice and makes the request.
