These include idioms (kick the bucket), noun compounds (cable car), phrasal verbs (take off, give up), etc. Even though it focuses on multiword expresisons, the framework is quite complete and can also be useful in any corpus-based study in computational linguistics. The mwetoolkit can be applied to virtually any text collection, language, and MWE type. It is a command-line tool written mostly in Python. Its development started in 2010 as a PhD thesis but the project keeps active (see the SVN logs). This is an ooRexx line-by-line port from Ansi-C to ooRexx of the stemming routine published by Martin Porter 1980. The original source code from Porter has been commented out and emulated by the corresponding (oo)Rexx code as far as possible. This is not an example of good or fast (oo)Rexx programming, it is merely a demonstration of the Porter stemming routine ported to ooRexx, use and modify as necessary. Input to the program is a textfile with words to be stemmed, one per line. Output from the program ends up in the terminal window (standard out) and may be redirected to an output file. Syntax: rexx ooPorter myInputfile.txt > myOutputfile.txt The program only works for stemming English words. The source code is distributed under a free beer license; you are free to use the ooRexx source code as you please and no restrictions whatsoever apply as far as the type of beer is involved.

Python API to the german wordnet GermaNet. In the current state this can be only seen as a quickstart-help to access GermaNet. To be honest, this API can't be called API. To use it, you will need access to a licensed copy of GermaNet (version > 5).

Stance is a perl script for generating random sentences in Dutch, which can be used as translation exercises for students of Dutch. In its finished version, it should be able to generate only gramatically correct sentences.

stocleka is a project divided into a UI and a library for cleaning user stories and converting them to arff files (used for Weka). it may be mainly used for research and scientific purposes.

Tipa2Unicode is a little stand-alone application which lets you input Tipa-shortcuts and then displays Unicode symbols. You can then paste either side of the conversion to LaTeX or a word processor.

WQuery is a domain-specific query language designed to process WordNet-like lexical databases. It may be used as a standalone application or as an API to a lexical database in Java based systems.
