Supertux 3D is 3D of the gpl'd 2D game Supertux. it uses a heavily modified version of the logic systems from yofrankie, textures from various games, the sounds from supertux2d and my own models. all of the 2d levels will be copied eventually.
Gimpel3D - 2D/3D Stereo Conversion Editor
The main download link is the installer for the compiled application. NOTE: The help files are accessible from within the application, from the main menu. The source code is bundled separately. Gimpel3D converts single images or frame sequences into stereoscopic 3D using a combination of traditional approaches and a proprietary projective modeling system. The user works in true proportional space where the scene can be viewed from any location. The scene is edited geometrically in space using tools specifically designed to work with the perspective projection of the image. This creates a virtual workspace that is intuitive for the user and proportionally accurate. Biosphere3D targets interactive landscape rendering based on a virtual globe. It supports DEM, satellite and aerial images, 3D models (Collada), 3D plant models, and Shapefiles. Biosphere3D was initially developed by the landscape visualization group of the Zuse Institute Berlin by Malte Clasen and is now developed further by Lenné3D GmbH. Plate Tectonics simulator
PlaTec is a 2D terrain generator that uses a simplified model of plate tectonics to produce realistic heightmaps in real time. The simulator starts with a flat fractal map and splits it randomly into plates. Plates are moved around the map. If continents of two plates collide, they fold creating mountain belts. If oceanic crust of one plate collides with another plate, subduction occurs resulting in coastal mountain ranges or island chains. This project is part of my Bachelor of Engineering thesis in Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, Helsinki, Finland.
