Myoelectrically Controlled Functional Electrical Stimulation
The objective of this project is to develop and promote a method for restoring motor function lost due to upper motor neuron lesion (spinal cord injury, stroke) in a way that the user has direct control over the movement. When a muscle contracts it is causing a weak electrical signal that can be measured on the skin over the muscle- even if the muscle is almost completely paralysed (paretic). At the same time the muscle can be electrically stimulated to contract. Combining these two principles the muscle can directly boost itself to obtain a greater amount of contraction. Multi-purpose productivity tool for HL7 V2.x implementers.
Messaging Workbench or MWB was developed by the late Peter Rontey at the Department of Veteran Affairs. The tool allows an array of functionality most prominently allowing creation of conformance profiles, specification messages etc. based off of HL7 V2.x. The idea is to allow implementers to test their profiles/implementations before they begin participation in conformance and interoperability testing. The tool is built using Delphi. At the request of the HL7 community and the HL7 Tooling SIG, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is placing the MWB source into public domain. The objective behind putting this tool's source code is that the open-source developers will maintain and advance it’s features. All third party software has been removed. NULO is an attempt to define the core ontology of Web 3.0 in a practical, well defined, standardized and consistent way so that it can be shared and used among those users that generate ontologies and end-users that want to organize, exchange and share information resources. In a direct analogy to URL, NULO uses the term Uniform Symbol Representation, USR, to represent any kind of information resource. USR describes the notion of the topic term in the Topic Maps standard. USR will hopefully unify all kinds of symbol representation in the domain of informatics, including of course files and web pages. In NULO there is an explicit distinction between Binary Information Resources (BIRs) and Term Information Resources (TIRs). This way we alleviate understanding and formalization of mapping relations among them. Simply import the database dump from the database folder to create the necessary tables for the system to run. You can use either phpMyAdmin for localhost; Microsoft SQL Server; or simply Query Browser for MySQL. Other database environments have not been tested hence I don't guarantee their adaptability. ii. Run and Build the system in NetBeans IDE 7.0. Other IDEs have not been tested for this system. A more stable and installable version will be released soon. iii. Models the generic bacterial processes such as growth, the physics of the simulation, and processes specific to S. Pneumoniae such as competence, quorum sensing and fratricide. Provides fully navigable 3D visualisation using OpenGL, and exports simulation data in CSV and HTML formats.
