.files is a personal system configuration collection designed primarily for macOS while also supporting Ubuntu and Arch Linux. It automates workstation setup through an idempotent Makefile and organized configuration files. The environment relies heavily on Homebrew, Node.js, modern Bash, GNU utilities, Git, Python, Ruby, and other developer tools. It configures shell behavior, a fast colored prompt, editors, package sets, and macOS defaults. A dedicated dot command provides shortcuts for updates, cleanup, testing, editing configurations, and applying system settings. Installation and runcom setup are continuously tested on macOS and Ubuntu, with support for both Apple Silicon and Intel hardware.
