    magic-string

    magic-string

    Manipulate strings like a wizard

magic-string is a small JavaScript utility for editing strings while preserving accurate source maps. It is designed for compilers, bundlers, preprocessors, and code transformation tools that need to rewrite source code safely. The library lets developers overwrite, append, prepend, remove, move, and slice sections of text without losing track of where transformed content came from. This makes it especially useful when generated output still needs to map back to the original source for debugging. Magic String works in both Node.js and browser environments. Its main value is making code manipulation precise, fast, and source-map-friendly for build tools and language tooling.

    miniaudio

    miniaudio

Audio playback and capture library written in C,

miniaudio is written in C with no dependencies except the standard library and should compile cleanly on all major compilers without the need to install any additional development packages. All major desktop and mobile platforms are supported. miniaudio gives you complete flexibility. With the low-level API, just initialize a connection to the device and send or receive raw audio data. The modular design of miniaudio allows you to use the low-level API without compromising your ability to make use of other features like the node graph and resource manager. miniaudio's node graph system gives you an easy way to set up advanced mixing and effect graphs. Each node sends it's output to another node, and so on and so forth to produce all kinds of effects. You can even implement your own custom nodes and plug them in however you like. Plug multiple nodes into the same input node for mixing and use the splitter node for complex routing.

    node-emoji

    node-emoji

Simple emoji support for node.js projects

A simple emoji support for node.js projects. To install node-emoji, you need node.js and npm. Once you have that set-up, just run npm install --save node-emoji in your project directory. You're now ready to use emoji in your node projects! There are some emojis that have "-" in their name, for example "t-rex" and refrencing them directly like this (emoji.t-rex) won't work. In such cases, use the emoji.get('t-rex') syntax instead. To update the list or add custom emoji, clone this repository and put them into lib/emojifile.js. Then run npm run-script emojiparse in the project directory or node emojiparse in the lib directory. This should generate the new emoji.json file and output Done.

    pytz

    pytz

Python historical timezone library and database

pytz is a Python library that brings the IANA/Olson timezone database into the Python runtime, enabling accurate, cross-platform timezone calculations for all the world’s timezones. It addresses a major limitation of Python’s built-in datetime.tzinfo by providing consistent support for daylight-saving transitions, historical offset changes, and ambiguous times (such as the end of DST). With pytz, developers can convert naïve datetime objects into timezone-aware ones, shift between timezones, and safely perform arithmetic across DST boundaries with methods like localize() and normalize(). Although Python 3.9 and newer include better built-in timezone support (via zoneinfo and external packages like tzdata), pytz remains widely used—especially in legacy codebases or in environments where backward compatibility matters.

    ramsey/uuid

    ramsey/uuid

A PHP library for generating universally unique identifiers (UUIDs)

ramsey/uuid is a PHP library for generating and working with RFC 4122 version 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 universally unique identifiers (UUID). ramsey/uuid also supports optional and non-standard features, such as version 6 UUIDs, GUIDs, and other approaches for encoding/decoding UUIDs. A universally unique identifier, or UUID, is a 128-bit unsigned integer, usually represented as a hexadecimal string split into five groups with dashes. The most widely-known and used types of UUIDs are defined by RFC 4122. The probability of duplicating a UUID is close to zero, so they are a great choice for generating unique identifiers in distributed systems. UUIDs can also be stored in binary format, as a string of 16 bytes. The JSON extension is normally enabled by default, but it is possible to disable it. Other required extensions include PCRE and SPL. These standard extensions cannot be disabled without patching PHP’s build system and/or C sources.

    raygui

    raygui

    A simple and easy-to-use immediate-mode gui library

raygui is a lightweight, easy-to-use immediate-mode graphical user interface (GUI) library designed primarily to work alongside the raylib graphics programming library, though it can be adapted for other engines. It provides an API inspired by immediate-mode GUI paradigms, similar to Unity’s IMGUI, which allows developers to create buttons, sliders, text boxes, panels, and other controls without managing retained widget states. Because the library is distributed as a single header file containing both declarations and implementations, including it in a project is simple and doesn’t require complex build configurations. raygui supports a wide range of controls and customization options for colors, fonts, and layout metrics, and also includes a built-in set of 1-bit icons that can be embedded into controls. It’s intended for tools development, rapid GUIs for editors or debug interfaces, and simple applications that need basic UI without heavy frameworks.

    rowGrid.js

    rowGrid.js

A small, lightweight JavaScript plugin for placing items

rowGrid.js is a small, lightweight (~1000 bytes gzipped) jQuery plugin for placing images (or other items) in straight rows. The grid is similar to grids on Google Image Search, Flickr, Shutterstock and Google+ images. All items must have the same height but the width can be variable. RowGrid.js justifies the items in straight rows so that the width of the rows equals the width of the container/parent element. At first, rowGrid.js adjusts the margin between the items. If this is not enough rowGrid.js scales down the items.

    sharp

    sharp

High performance Node.js image processing module

The typical use case for this high speed Node.js module is to convert large images in common formats to smaller, web-friendly JPEG, PNG, AVIF and WebP images of varying dimensions. Resizing an image is typically 4x-5x faster than using the quickest ImageMagick and GraphicsMagick settings due to its use of libvips. Colour spaces, embedded ICC profiles and alpha transparency channels are all handled correctly. Lanczos resampling ensures quality is not sacrificed for speed. As well as image resizing, operations such as rotation, extraction, compositing and gamma correction are available. Most modern macOS, Windows and Linux systems running Node.js v10+ do not require any additional install or runtime dependencies. This module supports reading JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, TIFF, GIF and SVG images. Output images can be in JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF and TIFF formats as well as uncompressed raw pixel data. Streams, Buffer objects and the filesystem can be used for input and output.

    sqlite-utils

    sqlite-utils

Python CLI utility and library for manipulating SQLite databases

sqlite-utils is both a Python library and a command-line tool for creating, inspecting, and transforming SQLite databases with minimal boilerplate. It focuses on making common tasks like importing CSV/JSON, exploring tables, and running ad-hoc queries feel ergonomic and scriptable. As a CLI, it lets you build databases from structured data in one line, run queries against local files or in-memory databases, output results as JSON, CSV, or pretty tables, and configure full-text search. As a library, it exposes high-level APIs for inserting records, creating or transforming tables, normalizing schemas, and running migrations that SQLite’s limited ALTER TABLE cannot handle directly. The project also embraces an ecosystem of plugins, so you can add custom SQL functions, extra commands, or UIs (including a terminal UI) via separate packages. Because it’s designed by someone who uses SQLite heavily in real projects, the tool includes many small quality-of-life features.

    toastr

    toastr

    Simple javascript toast notifications

toastr is a Javascript library for Gnome / Growl type non-blocking notifications. jQuery is required. The goal is to create a simple core library that can be customized and extended. Toastr will supply default animations, so you do not have to provide any of these settings. However you have the option to override the animations if you like. Optionally override the animation easing to show or hide the toasts. Default is swing. swing and linear are built into jQuery. Use the jQuery show/hide method of your choice. These default to fadeIn/fadeOut. The methods fadeIn/fadeOut, slideDown/slideUp, and show/hide are built into jQuery. Rather than having identical toasts stack, set the preventDuplicates property to true. Duplicates are matched to the previous toast based on their message content. Control how toastr interacts with users by setting timeouts appropriately. Visually indicate how long before a toast expires.

    tobi try

    tobi try

    Fresh directories for every vibe

try is a lightweight Ruby command-line tool for managing short-lived experiment directories. It is built for developers who constantly create quick tests, prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and late-night coding experiments that usually get lost across temporary folders. The tool gives every experiment a dated home, then makes it easy to find and reopen past work with fuzzy search. It favors simplicity, using a one-file Ruby script with no dependencies and very little setup. Smart sorting brings recently used experiments to the top, which helps users jump back into active ideas without remembering exact folder names. It is ideal for developers who want a low-friction workspace system for creative technical exploration without turning every experiment into a full project.

    uemacs

    uemacs

Random version of microemacs with my private modificatons

uemacs is Linus Torvalds’ compact take on MicroEMACS, a tiny, fast, terminal-friendly text editor. The codebase prizes simplicity and portability, making it feasible to build and run on a variety of Unix-like systems without heavyweight dependencies. Its feature set is deliberately modest compared to full Emacs, favoring a quick, predictable editing experience for everyday text manipulation. The project serves as both a functional tool and an example of clean, old-school C systems programming. Because the editor is small, users can understand and modify it more easily than sprawling IDEs, which is appealing for hacking and learning. It’s not meant to compete with modern extensible editors; it exists as a minimal, dependable workhorse that starts fast and stays out of the way.
