Volley
HTTP library that makes networking for Android apps
Volley is an Android networking library that streamlines making asynchronous HTTP requests, caching responses, and managing image loading with minimal code. It provides request queues, thread pools, and lifecycle-aware cancellation so network work integrates cleanly with activities and fragments. Out of the box it supports JSON, string, and image requests, plus an extensible Request/Response model for custom payloads. Volley emphasizes responsiveness: transparent caching and de-duplication of in-flight requests help reduce latency and bandwidth usage. The ability to do this is useful because a) it allows for tinkering far before physical implementation of the design is. In addition to a strong core, WFCPK will also include modules emulating various processors (e.g., the MOS 6502 and the Zilog Z80) as well as the Video-Audio Interface (a custom VGA-compatible display and audio controller). The VAI is designed to fit within an FPGA to be integrated into real designs. XLSX parser for Java in 150 LOC
An extremely minimal parser for XLSX (Excel) files
I was unable to find a minimal XLSX (Excel) parser. The closest free option would be apache POI with about 8+ megabyte of JARs and features I don't need. The input is an XLSX file and the output is a Map<String,String[][]> with key of 'sheet name' and a String[][] of cell data. Dates are reformatted to dd/MM/yyyy (configurable in the code). The output of String[][] is to keep the interface compatible with CSV (eg. OpenCSV). -

TeleScope-CF XML Content Filtering Library
Current TeleScope-CF Java library implementation employs XML parsing and specific pattern-matching that provides standard logical operator constructs to construct the query over the values of XML elements and attributes applied to the XML message on the fly as it is provided in the form of a String object. The code base has been adopted from TeleScope CQ XML stream broker code base written in C. C code has been re-factored into Java with minor modifications. This general-purpose library could be used by any Java applications that are involved in the XML message content filtering. Example application scenarios could be intrusion detection, selective rule engines, targeted database insertions during the ETL process and various business logic scenarios. The library could also be used in XML routers and various web services for XML content filtering where XML is a common message passing format. -
