    Nano Events

    Nano Events

Simple and tiny (107 bytes) event emitter library for JavaScript

Nano Events is a minimalistic, high-performance event emitter library for JavaScript. Its goal is to provide the simplest possible API to add pub/sub capabilities (emitters and listeners) to any JS object or application, while keeping overhead and bundle size extremely small. Rather than offering many complex features, nanoevents focuses on the core primitives: creating an emitter, subscribing to named events, emitting events with arbitrary data, and unsubscribing. Because of its minimal API surface and implementation, it’s very easy to integrate into frontend or backend JS/TypeScript projects without introducing significant dependencies or weight. ...

    koanf

    koanf

Simple, lightweight, extensible, configuration management library

...It is a cleaner, lighter alternative to spf13/viper with better abstractions and extensibility, and fewer dependencies. koanf comes with built-in support for reading configuration from files, command line flags, and environment variables, and can parse JSON, YAML, TOML, and Hashicorp HCL. Any external dependencies are detached from the core into sub-packages, so only the ones that are explicitly referenced get compiled into an application. Once loaded into koanf, configuration are values queried by a delimited key path syntax. eg: app.server.port. Any delimiter can be chosen. Configuration from multiple sources can be loaded and merged into a koanf instance, for example, load from a file first and override certain values with flags from the command line.

    kafka-go

    kafka-go

    Kafka library in Go

We rely on both Go and Kafka a lot at Segment. Unfortunately, the state of the Go client libraries for Kafka at the time of this writing was not ideal. sarama, which is by far the most popular but is quite difficult to work with. It is poorly documented, the API exposes low level concepts of the Kafka protocol, and it doesn't support recent Go features like contexts. It also passes all values as pointers which causes large numbers of dynamic memory allocations, more frequent garbage...

    Rapid YAML

    Rapid YAML

Library to parse and emit YAML, and do it fast

...(If you are looking to use your programs with a YAML tree as a configuration tree with override facilities, take a look at c4conf). ryml parses both read-only and in-situ source buffers; the resulting data nodes hold only views to sub-ranges of the source buffer. No string copies or duplications are done, and no virtual functions are used. The data tree is a flat index-based structure stored in a single array. Serialization happens only at your direct request, after parsing / before emitting. Internally, the data tree representation stores only string views and has no knowledge of types, but of course, every node can have a YAML type tag. ryml makes it easy and fast to read and modify the data tree.

    Lightweight' GAN

    Lightweight' GAN

Implementation of 'lightweight' GAN, proposed in ICLR 2021

...The main contribution of the paper is a skip-layer excitation in the generator, paired with autoencoding self-supervised learning in the discriminator. Quoting the one-line summary "converge on single gpu with few hours' training, on 1024 resolution sub-hundred images". Augmentation is essential for Lightweight GAN to work effectively in a low data setting. You can test and see how your images will be augmented before they pass into a neural network (if you use augmentation). The general recommendation is to use suitable augs for your data and as many as possible, then after some time of training disable the most destructive (for image) augs. ...

    pgsodium

    pgsodium

Modern cryptography for PostgreSQL using libsodium

pgsodium is an encryption library extension for PostgreSQL using the libsodium library for high-level cryptographic algorithms. pgsodium can be used a straight interface to libsodium, but it can also use a powerful feature called Server Key Management where pgsodium loads an external secret key into memory that is never accessible to SQL. This inaccessible root key can then be used to derive sub-keys and keypairs by key id. This id (type bigint) can then be stored instead of the derived key.
