a tool to learn about Chinese (and Japanese) characters
The basic principle behind this program is 'Learning by Doing'. The user is encouraged to extend a database with acquired information about Chinese characters and Japanese Words. This information may turn out useful in the integrated text editor, for both reading and writing. So there are multiple different uses for this program: - Learn about Chinese characters. Gain, store and memorize knowledge about specific characters and words. - Input devices for Chinese (and Japanese) characters. For use without much prior knowledge. - Working with Japanese text, with powerful help. Input devices based on visual similarities and pure ASCII readings. Automatic space insertion before dictionary words and word highlighting. Compact info display in 'Trading Card' style. Currently the example database contains over 95.000 readings, including readings for more than 4500 of the most common Kanjis. A youtube tutorial shows how to extend the database. -

Find as much words you can in a schema (game console based).
Train your brain and your sight with this searching words game. You need to find as much words as possible in a NxN schema filled with random letters in the shortest time as possible. Only words that are longer then a minimum size can be selected. Words needs to be composed of connected cells. - You can't jump a cell. - You can't use twice a cell. Cells can be connected to each other in horizontal, vertical and diagonal. Dimension of the board, duration of a game and minum lenght of the word are configurable. At the end of your play you can see statistics showing the percentage of words found and the longest words contained in the board that you have missed. This game is compatible with any shell. Have fun and find a lot of words. -

KMemo makes learning easier through exercises. It is specialized for learning of human languages, but can also be used for other topics. You can create dictionaries, exercises for learning words, exercises with radio buttons, check boxes or text fields. Installation --------------- If you have Java installed on your system, click Download button above. Unzip the downloaded file, then run 'KMemo.sh' on Linux, 'KMemo.bat' on Windows. Постоянно показывает на экране английское слово и его перевод, при показе слова может воспроизвести его произношение при наличии аудиофайла. Транскрипцию слова и аудиофайл берет из словаря в dsl формате (протестировано с Longman Pronunciation Dictionary). Написана на Java, платформа безразлична. Поэтому и писалась, т.к. для UNIX like систем такой программы мною было не найдено. -

Kleiner Tipp: WINE funktioniert gut. Uns fehlt die Zeit; mit dem Qt SDK kann man sich den LLT auf Linux aber auch selber bauen. We aren't able to produce an English translator at the same time because the day's only got 24 hours and we've got other (necessary) work to do. We need more programmers/resources to do this so we'll make the English version as soon as we'll have finished the German one -

Das Übertragen und Verwalten der Vokabeln kann mit Hilfe der Software ListVok bequem erledigt werden. In ListVok können Vokabeln von Hand eingegeben werden. Es können aber auch Vokabeln von anderen Quellen, wie zum Beispiel Vokabellernprogramme, eingelesen werden. Diese Vokabeln können dann auf HandyVok übertragen werden. With LexHoard you can build vocabularies, glossaries, dictionaries or other types of wordlists. LexHoard features: -Unicode support (with a built-in Unicode editor) -export for MediaWiki and HTML format -attribution of more than one meaning/translation/relation to each word The program is written completely in native Lazarus/FreePascal. The only non-standard library needed is ZeosLib. It uses SQlite databases, so no special drivers or servers are required - although you can easily change it to use any other database supported by Zeos.
