It runs on Windows, Linux, and other UNIX operating systems. Pidgin is compatible with the following chat networks out of the box: AIM, ICQ, Google Talk, Jabber/XMPP, MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, IRC, MXit, Novell GroupWise Messenger, Lotus Sametime, SILC, SIMPLE, MySpaceIM, and Zephyr. It is written in C and makes heavy use of GLib and GTK+. Finch is a command line instant messaging program. It also lets you log in to accounts on multiple chat network simultaneously, and it is compatible with the same chat networks as Pidgin. It is written in C and makes heavy use of GLib and ncurses.

"Shane's Chess Information Database" is a huge chess toolkit with extensive database, analysis and chess-playing features. Scid vs. PC is a usability and bug-fix fork of Scid. It has many interface fixes and improvements, and is fully compatible with Scid's .si4 databases. New features include a rewritten Gamelist, Computer Tournament, and FICS, Tree, Book and Graph improvements.

Nagelfar is a static syntax checker for Tcl.

tcllib is a Tcl-only library of standard routines for Tcl (no compiling required). This project also houses the CVS modules for BWidgets, tclbench, mclistbox, tclapps, and tklib. Scidb is an open-source chess database application for Windows, Unix/Linux. It is a new development inspired by Scid.

BitchX is an IRC client based on ircII/EPIC4. It includes many features that are usually relegated to scripts such as CDCC and flood protection -- you can just start it and go. Development was on hiatus for a while but is now resuming.
