YouTube Downloader - Cross Platform
YouTube-DL-PyTK (formerly known as YouTube-DL-GTK) is just a graphical launcher for the popular youtube downloader youtube-dl . Its purpose is simple; to facilitate the downloading of non-copyright-protected videos from certain internet websites including YouTube. It is written in Python, so it should run on Windows and Linux systems alike. I don't have access to an Apple computer to test it on OSX, but it might also work on that platform. It includes the Windows and Unix version of youtube-dl, so there's no need for you to go download it yourself for this to work. This little project packages everything you need to start using it in one package, and all the appropriate licensing information is located in the archive. If you have ran the installer on Windows, you can find the source code and all of the documentation in the installation folder.

it's like a personal Google Reader server
A backend to aggregate many rss or atom news feeds into one, your own feed. You now subscribe to feeds not in your graphical feed reader client but in the feedproxy database. Feedproxy then fetches the feeds periodically and stores the news into it's database in the background. You just have to subscribe to a single one feed provided by feedproxy to get the previously stored news in your regular feed reader. It's transparent. Helps the problem of reading the same news again and again on many computers you use - as those clients work individually, every news is new to them. Feedproxy remembers you've already read one and wont send it to you again. Also useful when you go on vacation, as the proxy automatically fetches the content into database without the need to run a graphical client. It's like a Google Reader alternative without the Evil. Supports Amazon Kindle, can send the referred article contents with images automatically as a book via Kindle-It.

Lists and indexes files, even inside archives, packages, and images
Locates files on your computer or network. Like locate on steroids. Indexes not only all the files in your filesystems, but also those inside archives, filesystem images, and disk images as well. NOTE: For full functionality (reading partitions inside disk images, for example), the project "procb" is also required. There has been a tremendous amount of work done on this project (years, including lots of new filetypes) that has yet to be well-tested, cleaned up and uploaded, so please be patient and occasionally check back. NOTE: command line syntax and parameters have changed in newer versions significantly, to incorporate easy searches and easier database (flat file) creation.
