Fast Artificial Neural Network Library is a free open source neural network library, which implements multilayer artificial neural networks in C with support for both fully connected and sparsely connected networks. Cross-platform execution in both fixed and floating point are supported. It includes a framework for easy handling of training data sets. It is easy to use, versatile, well documented, and fast. Bindings to more than 15 programming languages are available. An easy to read introduction article and a reference manual accompanies the library with examples and recommendations on how to use the library. Several graphical user interfaces are also available for the library.
ImageMagick is free software to create, edit, and compose bitmap images in many formats from the commandline or via programming interfaces. Images can be cropped, resized, and combined, effects can be applied, and text, polygons, and curves can be added.

This is the project page for the old Perl version of Natural Docs. It is still available but no longer being updated. Please see NaturalDocs.org for the new version. Natural Docs is an open-source documentation generator for multiple programming languages. You document your code in a natural syntax that reads like plain English. Natural Docs then scans your code and builds high-quality HTML documentation from it.

CRC algorithms, test code, libraries and tables
This is a modified version of the CRC algorithms by Lammert Bies. It supports more algorithms and has been ported to several languages. It's also useful for learning how to do hexadecimal calculations and bitwise operations in various programming languages. Disclaimer: These test programs demonstrate the calculation of CRC. I made these translation with a basic knowledge of each language. They may or may not be appropriately formatted / secured / robustified / idiot proofed or any similar programming issues.

Handset Detection for Mobile Applications. Device Description Database
WURFL lets you detect thousands of types of mobile devices accessing your web service and take decisions based on what that device can or cannot do. With WURFL, you can optimize mobile web content, effectively deliver advertisements, or analyze mobile traffic. WURFL will read HTTP requests from mobile browsers and search the Device Description Repository (DDR) for the corresponding device properties (i.e. capabilities). WURFL will return the device capabilities to your application, which can leverage this knowledge to optimize the mobile experience. WURFL can detect over 10000 device types and offers over 500 device capabilities, including desktops, smartphones, tablets, feature phones, smart TV’s and many other emerging devices types. WURFL addresses the needs of many types of users, from large enterprises with high performance requirements, to regular companies who need a solution that is simple to deploy, integrate and customize. WURFL is provided by ScientiaMobile, Inc.

a tool for encoding/decoding to base62
the package chewingum contains two main programs: - chew - base62 They have been implemented in perl and in java. chew has been written to shorten long decimal integer numbers into base62 strings. It's not a mere base conversion, because it doesn't use arithmetic inside its logic. In this way it can convert very long numbers into strings quickly, without overflows. the base62 program has been written to encode/decode files into this format. The syntax is similar to the popular base64 command line program. Inside the package there is also a draft for a c# implementation of the base62 algorithm. chew and base62 have been ported to java too. the sources are inside the package.
