Octave Eclipse GUI
Octave development environment built upon Eclipse's Dynamic Languages Toolkit (http://www.eclipse.org/dltk/). Distributed as an Update site for Eclipse 3.7 Indigo and Indigo-based package for several platforms. Supports search, autocompletion, launching scripts, interactive console, debug and integrated plotting on Octave versions 3.2.x, 3.4.x and 3.6.x. The current goal is to make it running out-of-box on multiple platforms. Currently only Linux and Windows are supported. Mac support is possible. The project needs a maintainer for Mac version, since I don't have Mac to build Octclipse and test it on this platform. Also, it is worth to support Eclipse 4.0 Juno with DLTK 4.

OpenFlux2 is an extended version of OpenFLUX (https://sourceforge.net/projects/openflux/) - the modern MATLAB-based modelling software for 13C flux analysis (MFA). The following features were implemented in OpenFLUX2, which were not present in original software: integrated support for calculation and analysis of parallel labeling experiments (PLE), extended statistical analysis of parameter estimation results, calculation of fluxes and measurements correlation, structural identifiability analysis and elements of experimental design.
An Efficient Binary data Format
EBF, which stands for Efficient Binary Format, is a binary file format for reading and writing binary data easily. Reading writing routines are currently available in C,C++,Fortran,Java, Python, IDL, MATLAB. A program called ebftkpy which has a set of utility functions to work with the .ebf files , e.g., viewing the contents and getting a summary, is also provided. The EBF specification is designed to be concise and easy to understand to make it easier for others to write their own code if needed. It is also designed to simplify the programming of input output routines in different programming languages. In a nutshell an EBF file is a collection of data objects. Each data object is specified by a unique name and a single file can have multiple data objects. Each data object is preceded by a meta-data or header which describes the binary data associated with it. Among other things, this header allows the files to be portable across systems with different endianess.
