Real-time frameworks/RTOS based on active objects & state machines
Real-time frameworks/RTOS for building responsive and modular real-time embedded software as systems of active objects (concurrent state machines). The QP family consists of QP/C, QP/C++, and QP-nano frameworks, which are all strictly quality controlled, superbly documented, and commercially licensable. The behavior of active objects (a.k.a. actors) is specified in QP by means of hierarchical state machines (UML statecharts). The frameworks support manual coding of UML state machines in C or C++ as well as automatic code generation by means of the free QM modeling tool. All QP frameworks can run on bare-metal MCUs, completely replacing a traditional RTOS. Ports and ready-to-use examples are provided for major embedded CPUs, such as ARM Cortex-M, ARM7/9, MSP430, as well as Arduino and mbed. QP/C and QP/C++ can also work with a traditional RTOS/OS, such as ThreadX, FreeRTOS, embOS, and uC/OS-II as well as Linux (POSIX), Windows.
Real-time, modular, microkernel-based operating system under development for i386. The first goal is to support 32-bit DOS protected mode applications made with DJGPP as well as native applications.
Embedded Operating System
EXIRION/OS is an operating system for embedded computer systems. These operating systems are designed to be compact, efficient at resource usage, and reliable, forsaking many functions that non-embedded computer operating systems provide, and which may not be used by the specialized applications they run. They are frequently also referred to as real-time operating systems, and the term RTOS is often used as a synonym for embedded operating system. EXIRION/OS project, a Open operating system for computers that can be used in specific operations that require execute a task at a time, EXIRION/OS operating system is a monolithic and mono layered task, which can be used to control complex electronic equipment without the use of instruments PLC, offering a wide range of electronic and industrial applications, EXIRION/OS is also an educational tool, it is an open source operating system to use it as an example of building operating systems in universities and technical colleges.
Caracal Boot Loader (cboot) is a second stage boot loader which takes over from GRUB (or other multiboot compatible loader) and prepares the system for your higher-half kernel. It now also includes VESA mode setting support.
Andalus is an x86 based OS kernel
CMAKE build enviroment for LPC2000 and LPC17xx Cortex MCUs
The goal of project is to build CMSIS like environment for LPC2000 series MCU and to write RTOS for LPC2000 and Cortex Microcontrollers
Caracal is an IA32 operating system which, once stable, will be used to create tutorials and therefore teach others the basics of writing system software for IA32 processors.
A collection of dozens of entertaining educational programs. Optionally bootable from Floppy, CD, or USB. Only the open source portions of FUZOMA are hosted on Sourceforge. Visit the Project Homepage for the full version of FUZOMA.
FreeMiNT is a free alternative OS kernel for Atari systems & clones
FreeMiNT provides the basis of a free TOS compatible replacement OS that can multitask. Used together with the free system components fVDI (device drivers), XaAES (graphical user interface widgets), and TeraDesk (desktop manager), it provides a modern user interface.
K-OS is an open-source realtime-operating-system based on the OSEK/VDX standard aimed at compiler and microcontroller independence. Currently we support Motorola (Freescale) HC12/HCS12/HCS12X targets.
Its a tiny open source Operating System created mainly aid in study of Operating Systems. It's floppy based, uses FAT-12 filesystem with complete shell and basic commands. It created in C and assembly (gcc + nasm).
A lightweight, simple and easy to use embedded system task scheduler. RataOS is written as a high level C, with a simple HAL & API structure, allowing it to be ported between embedded devices easily.
