Various scripts to transform Gimp paths
Multi-core image resizer and rotator. Go crunch 'em!
imgp is a command line image resizer and rotator for JPEG and PNG images. If you have tons of images you want to resize adaptively to a screen resolution or rotate by an angle using a single command, imgp is the utility for you. It can save a lot on storage too. Powered by multiprocessing, an intelligent adaptive algorithm, recursive operations, shell completion scripts, EXIF preservation (and more), imgp is a very flexible utility with well-documented easy to use options. imgp intends to be a stronger replacement of the Nautilus Image Converter extension, not tied to any file manager and way faster. On desktop environments (like Xfce or LxQt) which do not integrate Nautilus, imgp will save your day.
Google Search, Google Site Search, Google News from the terminal
googler is a power tool to Google (Web & News) and Google Site Search from the command-line. It shows the title, URL and abstract for each result, which can be directly opened in a browser from the terminal. Results are fetched in pages (with page navigation). Supports sequential searches in a single googler instance. googler was initially written to cater to headless servers without X. You can integrate it with a text-based browser. However, it has grown into a very handy and flexible utility that delivers much more. For example, fetch any number of results or start anywhere, limit search by any duration, define aliases to google search any number of websites, switch domains easily... all of this in a very clean interface without ads or stray URLs. The shell completion scripts make sure you don't need to remember any options. googler isn't affiliated to Google in any way. Demo: https://asciinema.org/a/85019

Audio Transcription software for Linux (Vlc) with a foot pedal
Footswitch 2 is a media player for transcription on Linux. Written in python and using the python bindings for VLC it allows a transcriber to control the audio or video with an Infinity footpedal, and includes a set of macros that integrate into LibreOffice. This allows the transcriber to control the media player from within Libreoffice as well, making it useful for those who do not yet own a footpedal/footswitch. Control of the media player from LibreOffice can be via Hotkeys or an integrated toolbar. There are 3 timestamp macros, along with media player control macros for Play/Pause toggle Jump backwards Jump forwards Slower Faster Normal Audio speed Jump to timestamp Allows for multiple transcription clients, database export for spreadsheet invoicing. This combination of fs2 and libreoffice unlike some other transcription tools, means you are working in a world class editor, so there is no need to cut and paste or transfer the text into another package when finished.

itom - an Open Source Measurement, Automation and Evaluation Software
itom is an open source software suite for operating measurement systems, laboratory automation and data evaluation. One main application of itom is the development and operation of sensor and measurement system for instance in a laboratory environment. Therefore, the software has to be able to communicate with a wide range of different hardware systems, such as cameras or actuators and should provide a diversified and as complete as possible set of evaluation and data processing methods. Additionally, the rapid prototyping of modern measurement and inspection setups requires a system, where parameters or components can easily be changed at runtime, necessitating the availability of an embedded scripting language. Finally, when operating a measurement system, it is also desirable to extend the graphical user interface by system adapted dialogs and windows.

Present video folder overview in a new way. Have a lot of files from camcorder or actioncam. Need to sort them, dispose poor videos, edit (shorten) some that are to long and so on. The usual file managers show only 1 thumbnail per video, that is not enough. Note this is NOT a video editor, it is only a special file manager and shows much better information on your videos. Requirements: Python3, Gkt, ffmpeg. About the screenshot: 2nd file clearly a mistake: all black. 5th file clearly a mistake: device recording while fiddling with the settings. Todo: - improve time to start-up. - add drag-n-drop. - add file features delete, copy, rename. (this is now experimental) - consider migration to Qt.
Photo exif organiser
Digital photos from camera and mobile phones all have filenames. I want my photos in standard directories and subdirectories and have standard names. This program makes it easy: Take a bunch of photos put them in directories, where main directory is yyyy and subdirectorys mm/dd rename photos to i yymmdd_hhmmss Command line example: >photexo.py copy magic indir outdir copy: copy files. magic: use exif to detec camera model. indir: a directory with digital photos. outdir: the directory where we want our structured result. The program has some flexibility: depending on the camera it can use the file name or the exif date time. There are other command variations, please see the readme.
