GPTIPS is a genetic programming (GP) tool for use with MATLAB aimed at evolving empirical non-linear symbolic models from data. It can evolve "multigene models". These are often more accurate, transparent and compact than models evolved by standard GP.

GUItars is designed for the analysis of high throughput RNAi data.

GUItars's user-friendly graphical interface enables rapid analysis of RNAi and small molecule screens. GUItars uses SSMD for hit selection, which is preferred for its ability to diminish sample size effects and the false hit rate, making it superior to other widely used HTS analysis methods. The program can handle the analysis for screens without replicates as well as with replicates. For comparison purposes, non-SSMD-based methods such as percent activity, z-score, and t-test are also provided as scoring options. Version 2.1 released: several bugs fixed. Version 3.0 released for Windows and Mac: experiment-wise analysis option, map to all samples option (no hit cut-off needed), percent activity for replicates option and .ai output format are added

Gene-Environment iNteraction Simulator 2 (GENS2) simulates interactions among two genetic and one environmental factor and also allows for epistatic interactions. GENS2 is based on data with realistic patterns of linkage disequilibrium, and imposes no limitations either on the number of individuals to be simulated or on number of non-predisposing genetic/environmental factors to be considered. The GENS2 tool is able to simulate gene-environment and gene-gene interactions. To make the Simulator more intuitive, the input parameters are expressed as standard epidemiological quantities. GENS2 is written in Python language and takes advantage of operators and modules provided by the simuPOP simulation environment. It can be used through a graphical or a command-line interface.

GoIFISH has been developed for the analysis of IFISH (Immunofluorescence + Fluorescence in situ Hybridisation) images, performing nuclear, membrane and spot detection. Users can manually edit segmentation results, perform background adjustments, construct heatmaps, topology maps, and perform cell classification. All results can be exported for further analysis. GoIFISH has been developed in MATLAB, however binaries are provided to run the program outside of the MATLAB environment. Source code is also available for download. Eccentricity correction for the hole drilling strain gauge method
The hole drilling strain gauge method is one of the most utilised techniques to determine residual stresses. The presence of eccentricity between the centre of the hole and its theoretical position can compromise the accuracy of the method. The present work proposes a method to correct the measured strains in eccentric holes in the case of non-uniform residual stresses. The depths where the strains are measured in the ASTM E837-13 are taken as reference and specific functions are proposed to use the method without the need of performance finite element model simulations in each new problem.
