The Janelia Automated Animal Behavior Annotator
The Janelia Automatic Animal Behavior Annotator (JAABA) is a machine learning-based system that enables researchers to automatically compute interpretable, quantitative statistics describing video of behaving animals. Through our system, users encode their intuition about the structure of behavior by labeling the behavior of the animal, e.g. walking, grooming, or following, in a small set of video frames. JAABA uses machine learning techniques to convert these manual labels into behavior detectors that can then be used to automatically classify the behaviors of animals in large data sets with high throughput. JAABA combines an intuitive graphical user interface, a fast and powerful machine learning algorithm, and visualizations of the classifier into an interactive, usable system for creating automatic behavior detectors. "ReverseM" is a open-source project initiative aimed at supporting designers,researchers and hobbyists to tinker with electronics creatively. We are creating a software tool and website in spirit of reverse engineering. We are currently developing a tool that allows users to creatively convert the real-world manufactured PCB in to their respective Schematic diagrams and documenting their prototypes. Share the schematics, tinker with it to promote the electronics knowledge among interested persons. This is a Content Based Image Retrieval Interface with only color features implemented. This is part of a thesis work to analyze the different color features and observe the performance on mainly corel5k images.

A general flow visualization Matlab toolbox for image processing of some common planar/surface visualization techniques from PLIF (Planar laser induce fluorescence) for tracer distribution, BOS (background oriented Schlieren) for density, TSLC (Temperature sensitive liquid crystal) for thermal and PSP (Pressure sensitive paint) pressure distribution measurement. This work is part of author's PhD study, under Dr S. Zhong @ the University of Manchester's supervision, guidance and support. Both GUI and command line interface are provided for newbie and advanced user. Image can be processed into contour image, matlab mat and tecplot data. This toolbox can be conveniently extended for 2D image processing in other disciplines, for example, surface stress measurement, inferred thermograph, PIV.
