Rapid Alignment Free Tool for Sequences Similarity Search
RAFTS3 can perform high-speed protein search comparisons locally using a desktop computer or laptop. RAFTS3 performed searches many times faster than those with BLASTp against large protein databases such as NR and Pfam, with a small loss of sensitivity depending on the similarity degree of the sequences. RAFTS3 is a new alternative for fast comparison of protein sequences, genome annotation and biological data mining. Preprint: http://dx.doi.org/10.1101/055269 Precomputed databases evaluated on paper are available for download at http://www.bioinfo.ufpr.br/software/rafts3
Matlab code to visualise brain graphs from connectivity matrices
This very configurable script allows you to plot a 3D (MNI space) visualisation of a brain graph, with edges represented by cylinders and vertices represented by spheres. To aid orientation, a cortical mesh can be added, as can convex hull outlines. The colouring and sizing scheme is fully configurable for both edges and vertices. You can see some example output in <http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22677149> <http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20541019> <http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24562717>

Advanced vehicle simulator
This project holds the latest releases for canonical versions of the ADVISOR® Software and "Advanced Vehicle Simulator". ADVISOR is a MATLAB/Simulink based simulation program for rapid analysis of the performance and fuel economy of light and heavy-duty vehicles with conventional (gasoline/diesel), hybrid-electric, full-electric, and fuel cell powertrains. New features are developed under the title "Advanced Vehicle Simulator". Periodically, stable versions of Advanced Vehicle Simulator will be submitted for consideration as the next canonical version of the ADVISOR software. ADVISOR is a registered trademark of the Alliance for Sustainable Energy, LLC, the manager and operator of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory for the United States Department of Energy. Trademark used under license.

ReViSP, a 3D volume rendering MATLAB tool for multicellular spheroids
Reconstruction and Visualization from a Single Projection (ReViSP) tool: a 3D volume rendering method we developed to reconstruct the 3D shape of multicellular spheroids, besides estimating the volume by counting the voxels (3D pixels) fully included in the 3D surface. ReViSP is written in MATLAB (©, The MathWorks, Inc., Massachusetts, USA) and the source code is freely provided. Requirements: MATLAB 2015a and Image Processing Toolbox 9.2 or later versions.
Virtual Sound Level Meter for analyzing calibrated sound files
This project is the MATLAB development of a virtual sound level meter. The program will read in a calibrated .wav file and allow the user to analyze it as one would analyze a sound field with a sound level meter. The software implements Fast, Slow, Impulse and LEQ; A, C and Flat Weighting; Ln and Noise Dose analysis; Octave and 1/3 Octave band analysis; high resolution FFT analysis and spectrograms. Band analysis can be made using fast FFT methods or slower, but ANSI standard methods. Source code requires MATLAB + Signal Processing Toolbox. Developed under MATLAB R2010a (but might work with some earlier versions) Executable version does not require MATLAB and runs under Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7.

Predicting ribosome footprint profile shapes from transcript sequences
Riboshape is a suite of algorithms to predict ribosome footprint profile shapes from transcript sequences. It applies kernel smoothing to codon sequences to build predictive features, and uses these features to builds a sparse regression model to predict the ribosome footprint profile shapes. Metabolomics Bioinformatics Tools
Our bioanalytical research exploits practical and efficient high-throughput technologies for the analyses of complex mixtures derived from living systems. This will facilitate the development of preventive, predictive and personalized medicine for specific diseases and will promote health and wellness. We use a number of high-throughput analytical platforms including multidimensional liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (MDLC-MS) for proteomics, and for metabolomics; liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS), and comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GCxGC/TOF-MS). Each type of analysis affords limited analyte coverage of molecules present in a patient sample and therefore provides only a partial molecular profile for an individual patient. These diverse analytical data must be integrated with advanced bioinformatics methods for accurate evaluation of health and detection of disease susceptibility.

Real time signature verification using MATLAB and C#
Online Signature Verification technology requires primarily a digitizing tablet and a special pen connected to the USB port of a computer. An individual can sign on the digitizing tablet using the special pen regardless of his signature size and position. The signature is characterized as pen-strokes consisting x-y coordinates and pressure with the data being stored in a signature database. Dynamic time warping (DTW) and quadratic discriminant analysis (QDA) is used to get results where the system accepts 2% of forged signatures and rejects 5% of true signatures
